Does he ..? Corbyn cannot seem to make his mind up on anything. :(

I do not think he can win a General Election.

Blair made sure that 'New Labour' would destroy any chance of a return to true Labour Policies.

Corbyn needs to understand that.

Well.. ? It's self explainitory to any pre Blair Labour suporter. Socialist. Trade Unionist..

All the things that Blair abandoned to try and make the Labour Party (Him) more electable.

Corbyn is a true old labour man.. Socialist .. but it no longer fits.. He is a dinosaur.

Even for me. Singing the Red Flag.. Those days have gone. There needs to be a new way.

I'm too tired.. need new young blood with inspiration and enthusiasm..

What are you talking about?

Labour party membership in the East Dulwich ward alone has quadrupled since Corbyn stood as leader.

Many of the new members are young, some of them have taken on active roles in the party and all are enthusiastic.

That is happening all over the country.

Dinosaur? No. Just standing for decency, respect and caring for others.

You need to check your facts.

That doesn't surprise me at all. Labour is an uneasy mix of the old-school working class and the urban left. Corbyn appeals to the urban left side, but it's the old-school that Labour is losing.

But with Labour swinging further left and the Tories swinging further right, which way will the centre vote? I just can't see them going for either with any enthusiasm.

Interesting comment. Please advise source of statistic.

Also, surely this was the intro of the ?3 membership which I seem to recall came out before the election of Jeremy???

    • Not sure what you mean by "involved with firework enjoyment"? I'm all for others enjoying themselves, and I like fireworks, but if they were limited to public displays then people could still enjoy them? Having said that, I see that tickets for the London New Year fireworks start at £20 (Dawson's Heights it is,  then!) The fireworks in Brockwell Park used to be free. I don't know why those don't happen any more?
    • Really interesting discussion here. It's difficult to respect the views of people who support Farage, Trump, Musk etc. Why should we, when their views are deplorable. But then that exact 'deplorable' label, as we know, is counterproductive and drives people to double down / switch off to more progressive views. How do you actually help change minds? We're currently spiralling into dark places culturally and politically imo. The amount of open racism, even amongst front line politicians here and in the US is astounding to me. Feels like we're going backwards. The influence of social media and the tech billionaires / bros, is a powerful and largely malignant one. There was an enlightening (and frightening) bit of journalism by Sky this week about Musk's influence on British politics. He has a strange obsession with the UK and London in particular (as do many on the US right wing): https://news.sky.com/story/the-x-effect-how-elon-musk-is-boosting-the-british-right-13464487
