Free! - Every Session! Fitness & Toning on the Rye - Sat @10am 16 to 60+

Recommended Posts

Trainers and 1Ltr bottle of water by the door for the morning.

You can jog it, walk it or run it, roughly 12 x 300m sections with toning, stretching and other things in between. We work as a team so stay together, the faster ones circle back to the last ones in the group.

Also, bring some change for a tea coffee at the end.

Catch you for tomorrow (Saturday) 10am, by the caf? on the Rye.

Fitness Julia does a ?5 pay as you go in Dulwich Park on Sunday mornings at 10am. Drive/walk/cycle in through the main entrance on College Road opp the Gallery, and you will find her team on the RHS about 100m in. If you are new, get there early to know the exact location. And if you are really lucky, I sometimes take her group.

Hi guys,

Are we all set for the morning, 10am by the caf? on the Rye for a nice bit of team building through fitness?

If you are new and reading this, its completely FREE, no membership, weekly or annual fees at all. Bring along a 1Ltr bottle of water for arm, shoulder and back toning, and come cash too for a tea / coffee at the end in the caf?.

** Fitness Julia's 10am session on Sunday in Dulwich Park **

Meeting Point: 100m to the RHS in side the main entrance from College Road/ opp the Gallery, this may be taken by me as she has come down with a cold/flu - this is a ?5 pay as you go!

See you in the morning and maybe on Sunday morning too.

Its that time of week again!

We have some new ones that have signed up - so remember to bring a 1Ltr bottle of water for arm, shoulder & back toning - then to rehydrate too.

Also some change for a tea / coffee at the end.

We meet for 10am at the caf? on the Rye - Saturdays. The sessions work on 300m sections, stop for toning, stretching etc..

Alas, I am still flu bound albeit on the last legs - I may be there in the morning or at the end :-)

McCabe

BTW, Spam mail has been remedied.

Gosh,

That time of week again - so looking forward to the morning.

Also, we are looking at booking up a Xmas do too :-)

Meet for 10am at the caf? on the Rye for a full work-out, power walkers, joggers, runners; with just a 300m distance then stop, tone and start again.

McCabe.

Less than a month to Christmas, eating, drinking and putting on those pounds - and then wishing to lose weight in the New Year!

Hold on! What if you found a FREE fitness team in ED, of all ages, abilities and fun with a tea at the end (you have to pay for that). Oh yes, the routine consists of 300m sections and we stick together as a team - McCabe (thats me) works at the back, and the faster ones have to circle back so they cover 450m and burn those competitive calories. And you have to bring a 1Ltr bottle of water for arm, shoulder and back toning.

So! With this achievable routine and free group, you can enter 2014 slimmer, fitter, feeling toned and to use this as a base to set a challenge: a 5Km, 10Km, or you could be crazy and think about a 1/2 or full marathon. But it could be a 50-mile walk, a cycle ride, a swim or even..... a triathlon - and I will personally assist you for this.

Go to www.AHM-Go.com, fill in a health form and email back to [email protected]. You will see a guy on the registration page in purle on an Auz beach before a 4Km open sea swim - yep, thats McCabe!

** FREE - Fitness in you Park **

What: Free fitness training - low impact cardio

When: Sat at 10am

Where: on the Rye, we meet at the caf?

Why: because its fun: 84.7%. While you generate endorphins, you produce twice as many when in a team.

See you in the morning!

Lots of deep squats in the morning for all.

I'm planning on bringing one of my three dogs - and on the lead too. If I do, he is an American black Lab, completely easy going and as cool as a cucumber with a dash of Tabasco.

OK, deep squats - you will feel your Adductors over the next couple of days (on the inside of your thighs).

McCabe

No deep squats for me!!! Can't make tomorrow as moving into our new holiday home in camber, so excited! We should have an away day boot camp in the dunes at camber, that'll make the muscles ache!

Any news on the brunch next Saturday?

Have a good one & catch you all next Saturday 😉

Salut, hola, vee gates (I know its not correct German) and G'day!

OK, we will be having a shorter session this coming Saturday on the Rye. Julie has booked us into the Exhibitions Rooms for c.11-30am.

There are loads of lovelies that I haven't seen in donkeys.... years, please come along, have a stretch, a jog, and some great brunch this coming Sat. We have an allocation of 20 ~ 30 peeps, drop a message on the EDF so we can see if we need more spaces.... like the entire venue :-)

Merry Brunch-fest!

  • 2 weeks later...

I forgot to say to everyone that I'm taking today off as a Christmas break :-)

Yes, back in January meeting at the caf? on the Rye for 10am on Saturday mornings.

Bring a 1Ltr bottle of water for arm, shoulder and back toning.

Best!

McCabe

Hi to all,

Our first day back tomorrow for 2014.

The weather looks rather challenging out there and hope its better for the morning.

My Physio has band me from jogging for at least 4-weeks, so I will be leading the powerwalkers. At each stop point I will give the team an extra set of reps to do so we get a good 30 seconds head start.

Catch you in the morning!

McCabe

So......,

We have another new baby on the block, Pearl, 6-2, (not height), congratulations Anna and co! I think this is the sixth baby in this group...yikes!

Anyone new reading this and thinks..... this is similar to the new 'powerwalking group', its actually the same but want individuals of all abilities and ages to join up and not think I lead a bunch of 6-pack marathon runners.

Totally free, all ages, abilities and more importantly fun!

Meet for 10am by the caf? on the Rye (Sat), bring a 1Ltr bottle of water fo arm, shoulder and back toning, and some change for a tea / coffee at the end.

Its going to be sunny and c.10C in the morning - unlike Niagara Falls, compeletly frozen - how cool is that excusing the pun!

I'm leading the powerwalkers which means I have to give extra punishment to the fitness team :-)

    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
