  7. Hello, I'm a little late to this party but I'm expecting my second baby on 12 February and would love to meet up with some other mums whilst on maternity leave.
  8. If anyone is thinking of getting their loft done, I would definitely recommend Loftlife. Very professional, very good value. Really pleased with mine and really enjoying the huge windows and french doors now it's summer!
  9. I had my baby at St Thomas' in December. He had to be resuscitated at birth after which he spent time in the Neonatal intensive care unit, then the special care baby unit. Both were excellent in my opinion.
  10. Thanks for all the advice, will go next week and try it out!
  11. I'm a first time mum and would like to go to one of peckham multiplex's 'watch with baby' screenings. I was just wondering what the etiquette with those was? Do you leave the auditorium if your baby starts crying/screaming and go back in once they've stopped? Or is a little crying ok but screaming not? Any advice welcome!
  12. Oh, I love the dish and the spoon. It's very baby friendly and it has the added advantage of being at the end of my road... Arlo is doing well thanks and looking forward to meeting you all.
  13. Yes, I'm looking forward to meeting up with everyone and their new additions. I'm sure baby Arlo (born 25 December) and I will be up to venturing out soon. The cafe in Peckham Rye park is supposed to be very baby friendly, maybe a daytime meet up there at some point would be good?
  14. Does anyone know a reliable person or company that can repair small kitchen electrical items? I need to get my food mixer fixed. Thanks!
  15. My due date is Sunday (23 Dec) but I also can't see anything happening anytime soon. Head not engaged yet and have had no braxton hicks practice contractions. May end up with a 2013 baby rather than a 2012 one...
  16. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Managed to be friend Tessa on fb but still can't find the group! Will try again now.
  17. Sorry the turning or moxi didn't work Stella. I'll be on maternity leave next week so let me know if you fancy meeting for a coffee. Thanks for setting up the FB group Tess. I'll try to join now.
  18. Good luck Stella, hope it goes well. I'm afraid I won't make it tonight. It's my birthday today and my husband has got us tickets for Mark Watson. Probably the last chance we'll have to go out in the evening for quite some time... Eek! Charlotte
  19. A word of warning ? use the phone number provided in this thread ? don?t google Dulwich plumbing and heating as you may get the wrong number. After reading all the positive comments about Dulwich Plumbing and Heating on this forum, I told my husband to use them when we needed an emergency plumber. He googled them and got this company and phoned the 0800 number: http://www.heatingcentral.com/boilers/plumbers/uk/london/dulwich/dulwich-plumbing-and-heating The engineer arrived without the parts for the job (despite being told exactly what was required on the phone) and charged for his time in going to the shops to get the required equipment. Their call out fee was ?90 + VAT and included up to one hour?s work and then they charged ?90 + VAT for each subsequent hour. The 25 minute ?trip to the shop? took the total time of the job to one hour 20 minutes and we were charged for a full hour for the extra 20 mins. If they had brought the right equipment, the job would have cost ?90+VAT as it was a 45min job at most. Because the engineer didn?t bring the correct parts (which are standard equipment for any plumber worth their salt), we were charged ?180+VAT + ?10 for parts (max cost ?3, and that?s from B&Q). We got this reduced to ?135 + VAT after phoning the head office but that was still ?45 more than it should have been. They also claimed that we needed a new boiler pump at a cost of ?1000+VAT when our boiler only cost ?500 in total and had only recently been checked and found to be fine. Terrible service.
