  1. I've had anti-d. It hurt going in but was fine afterwards. Much better than flu jab and whooping cough which didn't hurt going in but made my arm really sore for a couple of days afterwards. I can't make the 7th due to a work thing but would love to meet up again before Christmas. Charlotte
  2. Really enjoyed it, it was lovely to see everyone again and see how the bumps are progressing... I'm afraid I can't make 7th November, but if there is another get together after that, I'll do my best to make that.
  3. Thanks for the recommendations, I'll check out both those books. I'm also interested in pilates. Amber - would you mind posting the details: venue, day, time and price? I really need to do something as my fitness is going to pot and I do get out of breath easily (I guess our lungs are getting a bit squashed).
  4. I had my anti-d, flu and whooping cough injections last Wednesday, all on the dame day, ouch! I'd made an appointment off my own back for the flu jab (I wasn't on the GP surgery list as being due one) and when I got to the doctors, the nurse told me that whooping cough had come in that day, so I had that as well. Perhaps because the vaccine is only just arriving some surgery receptionists aren't up to speed yet. Anyway, my recommendation is have the flu jab and whooping cough in different arms if you have them on the same day, because my right arm was pretty sore for two days afterwards. Although the anti-d hurt going in, my left arm was fine afterwards. On a different note, has anyone bought any books on looking after babies yet? I haven't but would like to buy something 'practical', a kind of baby manual that covers all the day-to-day stuff (feeding, sleeping, washing etc), trouble shooting advice (illnesses, what to do if X happens etc) and maybe offers some advice on parenting techniques. Any recommendations? Does such a book exist?!
  5. I got married at Camden Town Hall which is opposite St Pancras station. It has a lovely marble staircase which is perfect for photos.
  6. Unfortunately Rob (Bob!) has to work so can't make it but he wants to do the dulwich marathon.
  7. Looking forward to it but I think it'll be my last one for a while. I reckon 6 months pregnant is the time to give up, I just don't have the energy any more!
  8. Hi, will be coming on my own (husband away) and will definitely be eating pizza! Char x
  9. I think it is hard to know what's 'normal' and what isn't - and easy to worry if you don't think your experience is 'normal'. I'll be 24 weeks pregnant on Sunday and haven't felt the baby move yet, bar 1 or 2 almost imperceptible 'flutters', or had any braxton hicks contractions; whilst others I know at a similar stage are getting BH's and lots of kicks. Guess every baby and every pregnancy is different. Had my 20 week scan at St Thomas's a few weeks back and decided not to find out the gender. My guess is that it's a girl but I'm not really sure why! Probably because I had so much morning sickness in the first 12 weeks and that's supposed to indicate a girl, or so I've heard.
  10. Sounds good. Their food looks tasty - will have to try one of their pizzas I think...
  11. When foxes were a problem in our garden we bought some "silent roar" from the garden centre. It's made from lion's poo and it puts the foxes off coming in your garden because they think there is a larger predator than them living in the vicinity. It also fertilisers your garden at the same time. However, it also puts off cats coming in your garden. Whilst this might be seen as an added benefit if you don't have a cat, if you do it might put him/her off using the garden.
  12. Definitely interested in a meet up. Wed 12 September sounds good - or meeting in a cafe one weekend.
  13. I think a lot of folk in Nunhead use the south east central forum which has a nunhead section.
  14. Really enjoyed Saturday despite the rainy start, but you were missed McCabe. Hope all is ok. Charlotte
  15. Klove - I'd like to use a birthing pool but at hospital. I'm under the care of St Thomas's and they have a home from home centre which has birthing pools so hopefully one will be free when the time comes... Also, I went on a work related tour of Lewisham Hospital's midwife led birthing centre recently and it looked really good. Five rooms that all look like posh hotel rooms including three with pools. But you have to be low risk to be admitted there. Ramble66 - I'm sure you're still allowed to join!
  16. Really enjoyed the session after a break of three months! Thank you. Hope the filming went Well McCabe...
  17. Hi Can't make the ride on the 15th I'm afraid but will definitely make the one after that - I'm really looking forward to the longer rides out of London! Char
  18. Really enjoyed the workout on Saturday - many thanks! Will definitely be back this saturday. Charlotte
