Not-the-Forum-Drinks - Fri 7th Sept.

Forum Drinks were unceremoniously cancelled for this month due to some other event taking place on the 21st. So, Not-the-forum-drinks are on Fri 7th if anyone fancies it. Venue to be decided - how about the CPT?

Sorry dear boy but it is grubby. If you walk down Underhill Road along the side of the pub, have a look in the pub windows and see the curtains. They need to go. Years of smoke and booze have turned them into something nightmarish. They don't sell a decent pinot noir in there either. They don't sell a decent wine in there full stop.

I don't mean to say parts of it aren't grubby - what I object to is seeing that as negative. It's comfortable!

I'm sure Sean Mac that your house is comfortable but does not under any circumstance have curtains that soiled hanging up in your windows? The Plough to me is comfortable the seepy tee, grubby. Sorry folks. Just my point of view. I'm sure the drinks will be a blast.

The "old side" of the CPT does need a face lift, but it's nice, especially when the fire is on in winter! The "new side" is nice. Problem is the owner is never there and doesn't want to put the money in to fix things up, it took them ages to convince her to reupholster the seats!

However, the staff in there are the best, and they make it a nice warm place to be. Sometimes it's the people you're with, not where you are.

The ?New? side is well old already! With the newish upholstery I think the ?old? side should be the new ?new? side.

Yeah, the "new" side was nicer when I first went there, 5 or so years ago. It's looking a bit tatty now. Still like it though.

..so are the drinks still happening tonight? I may be able to come along, that is if my plans fall through. Would be good to meet some new people in the area!
