Fitting a car radio

Recently had car radio nicked and bought another from a scrap yard.

I have been told not to try and fit it myself (they left the wires in the car in a mess).

I've tried local garage, they don't fit radios and advised me to try an electrician. I did, they too, weren't interested in the job?

Should add, I tried a car radio specialist but they were quite pricey.

Anyone?

shouldn't be too complex but if you are unsure as to exactly what you're doing I wouldn't mess with it as you might end up buggering the electrics - if you want someone who knows their stuff I can recommend in car multimedia on bellenden road, I had a new speaker system and head unit installed into my old car there and the guys can do all the fitting for you and are really friendly and very honest (for example - I was looking at buying a very large bass unit which was quite expensive and rather than push me to get that they actually advised it would be too much for the size of my car and recommended I buy the smaller, and also cheaper, unit in order to get best results - I thought that was decent of them as they could have just flogged me the more expensive unit which would have been unsuitable) - prices for fitting are pretty reasonable as well

Halfords fit car radios...

I had my car stereo nicked the other day and the guy at halfords said it would be ?30 to fit the new one. But I tried myself in the car park and got it working. If you are replacing a similar system then it seems quite obvious which wire goes where. Best of luck.

Depending on whats left of the radio loom you should be able to get a multi adapter from halfords to fit the stereo. Will cost you about a tenner and will be specific to the make of car.
