A flat in Glasgow is still occupied although all the other residents have moved out , this is because one family refuse to leave until the Council offer them more for their property, as its needed for the Commonwealth Village to be built on the site.. ?30000 in this day and age seems like an insult to this family to get rid of them to build. what do you think.. Im hoping the family are offered double this amount to allow them to move on and start again.

Well I think you'd need all the details.

Is it their flat? What's the money for? How as it calculated? What are the alternatives?

They probably didn't build the flat themselves, so they're capitalising on the hard work and effort of other people. It may be that they should try and fit in with other people a bit more.

Don't forget, 'Councils' are spending your money, and trying to do it wisely.

The deep-fried Mars bar is mentioned in UK quarterly The Idler's book Crap Towns II: The Nation Decides in the article on Glasgow. 'SJ' writes: "They aren't an urban myth: they are available in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. I ate one on a cold December night. It was quite nice. Then I was sick."

All that for 60p

( & making that 30k flat look quite expensive )

W**F

It's a two bed flat in a tenement block, the story can be found here in the Daily Express, a newspaper for the recently decesased.

They have been the only residents in the tenement block for eight years, as even the council didn't deem it fit for human occupation.

If anyone knows them please feel free to pass on this link to 30,000 quid flats in Glasgow.

The council have also offered them council accommodation.

It seems to me that the place is likely to be squalid, but they're very attached to it. The 95 grand valuation is clearly a con, and she probably wouldn't want to leave whatever the price. There is a lands tribunal process in Scotland, and I don't think anyone's out to get them.

    • Went to a fireworks display maybe 20 years ago at the Crystal Palace, it wasn't bonfire night, can't remember why it was being held, Capital Radio were there. There were people hanging from a crane, classical music, and quiet fireworks,  It was lovely, still dramatic with the colours but no loud bangs. Not sure why this hasn't become the norm.

    • Nadia did a great job tidying up my very very overgrown yard. (See the before and after photos). I live in New Zealand and my tenants said a neighbour has been complaining about the out of control ivy. Nadia was easy to contact so over WhatsApp, managed to liaise between me and my tenants. Her quote was reasonable for the amount of work that needed doing, and the end result is great! She sent photos throughout so I could track progress. Would highly recommend her to others.
