Hi there,

I wonder if anyone might have any good ideas of places that I could donate some baby and kids items? Some of it is in excellent condition and some more used, but still with plenty of life left in it. A mixture of clothes, toys and other practical items.

I'm really struggling to find somewhere (probably due to the time of year I'm sure. I've tried women's refuges I can find and my local community centre.

Does anybody know of any refugee collections or similar happening at the moment? I really don't want to throw it away as it's nice stuff, but I need to get it out of my very small flat!

Any ideas gratefully received.

Many thanks

You could contact Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers (SDCAS) [www.sdcas.org.uk]. They have a lot of mums with young children at their centres. The main office is at the Copleston Centre [tel: 020 7732 0505 (staffed Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays) or e-mail: [email protected]].

They are a super charity.

I live just around the corner & walk past every day, & I'm still not entirely sure what it's meant to be. For that reason, I'm not surprised if it often gets overlooked by passersby. Prior to all of this, it was Oriental Star - a wonderful Chinese takeout run by lovely people, & we were genuinely sad to see it go. It took a long time to find anything in this area that came close, & honestly, I still don't think we quite have.
