There's a dead fox outside the scout's hut on the pavement on Bellenden rd, and its been there all day. I (and I think several others) contacted the council and they said it would be removed in 4 hours (including on weekends) but its still there, with blood all over the pavement. I suppose it will stay there all night now. Quite distressing.

I contacted a local animal charity and they said it was the council's job.

I'm not asking for suggestions, just grumbling about Southwark.

Why moan about Southwark? They don't do road cleansing 24/7.

It's only road-kill and no big deal.

If it bothers you that much why dont you uput it in a bin bag then tip it in your brown bin.

A) its huge

b) there is a lot of blood

c) On their website, when I reported it(11am this morning) they sent a reply to say they will clear it within 4 hours -- they do this 7 days a week, as long as its reported between 9 and 5.

If they had said "we don't do this stuff on weekends, cutbacks, etc...sorry"...then that would be fine. But they didn't.

What evidence do you have that there is a "cat killer" around who also kills foxes? Even if there is a "cat killer" around then it is highly unlikely that a fox would become a victim. They are very wary, very intelligent and fast.

What evidence do you have that there is a "cat killer" around who also kills foxes?

Try reading the forum. Quite a lot of evidence - for cats and foxes. These may well be either trapped or take poisoned bait. The details are not, I think, made public.

Mands, no idea, as I didn't want to get close enough to tell (I'm quite squeamish). He's in an odd position for a traffic accident, and there is blood pouring out of what looks like his mouth....but I gather the cat killer mutilates and there are no mutilations that are obvious. Though as I said, I didn't want to get too close!

this is the other reason I thought the council should collect it, though, to see if there were any links to the cat killer.

    • Thanks all!  KateS - boulangerie Jade is a nice cafe, but they don't do fresh cream cakes. Their eclairs are filled with patisserie cream (a kind of custard), not fresh cream. Azalea- thanks and I've been to Bunhead Bakery (a Palestinian bakery) in Herne Hill a few times. There's a nice chocolate bun they do, which is amazing when then sauce is warmed up. But I haven't seen any fresh cream things there, only white icing. Maybe it's only on a certain day.  And the last time I checked, Ayres bakers in Nunhead don't do fresh cream things. These are the kind of fresh baked goods I'm thinking of....
    • Warning to parents using the playground in Dulwich Park. My daughter and her friends found a bag of ‘crunchy powder’ in the children’s playground this morning around 11ish. They thought it was ‘popping candy’ and all tried some before seen with it. Request to parents using the playground - if you see plastics bags with suspect looking contents or powder on the floor in the playground or park: pick it up and throw it in the bin. Don’t walk past and think someone else will deal with it. The next person to walk by might be a child who could pick it up not understanding what it could be. Hopefully our daughter and her friends will be ok and it’s a lucky escape. But please be aware in case anyone else’s child may have found it before them.
    • I’m looking for some ply sheets, ideally 9mm or 12mm. It doesn’t have to look good. As long as it’s not rotten it’ll be fine. I’d like bigger sheets, but I’m open to whatever anyone’s got. If you can help, drop me a DM.  Cheers
    • the only known name is from that poster in the window where it says to email [email protected]. I thought that website might shed some light on who is creating the posters I hope whoever was attacked is doing ok, but agree there is something very off/vigilante-ish about all of this
