Good neighbourly work. Bit concerned that description information may have been shared. Would that be considered to be corroborated evidence? Couldn't it affect the reliability of evidence? Perhaps someone in the know can inform. This thread for me highlights the importance of good neighbours, the importance of accurate descriptions when posting regarding perpetrators of crime, and personal safety issues. We can't stop the crimes, we can only do all we can to protect each other from injustice.
Thanks. No problem re posting descriptions. Both me and my neighbour gave descriptions to the police right from the start, independently, without each other's knowledge. Newspapers often give descriptions of perpetrators before they are found, which can lead to their arrest.

Well, I can now announce an update to burglary in Oglander Road. He pleaded guilty in court yesterday and will be sentenced on 9 March. His name is Tesfa Amlak Jones (and yes, I'm allowed to say that as he has been convicted). The police told me my evidence helped convict him and they will tell me what he gets, so I'll let you know. However, don't all applaud at once, as the reason he was caught was due to an eagle-eyed resident of Pellatt Road who phoned the police while he was in a property there and he was caught in the act. He had also burgled several other properties in other roads that week. So for once, a result, and this particular spate of burglaries has been halted, until the next one...

Well done buddug for posting on here. Not a very pleasant experience when someone comes to your private home with bad intentions. Makes you feel vulnerable. So you have been incredibly kind and good spirited by posting on here. Be careful chasing people though, but I love your style. As for the comments, I have read the entire thread and the comment made to you after you kindly put out a warning was incredibly passive aggressive and arrogant, so again, well done you for standing up for yourself and well done to those that supported you. It was completely unnecessary to ask you in such a way why you hadn't called the police, instead of asking if you had. They are very different ways of expression. And I do not care if they started the forum or how popular they are, it was mean when you've been through such an unpleasant experience. And as for Sue...well!

Anyway, well done. Stay safe. And thank you for the warning my lovely xx

As for Sue ... Well, what?

And what is your reason for rehashing the part of the thread which led to many comments being deleted by admin?

    • If you are looking for a trustworthy professional, I highly recommend Niko. He has consistently delivered quality work. No job is too small, and he is always accommodating. He has helped me out on a number of occasions, often at short notice when unexpected issues arose. His number is 07818 607583.
    • Well, they do turn them away from the A&E route at Kings and rightly so they employ GPs and if after triaging you’re determined to have a GP type problem you are sent to see one of the GPs on site or close to the site.
    • My bike (a ELOPS 120 step over classic from Decathlon) was stolen from outside The Belham this afternoon. I locked it up while I collected my kids, then the street was so busy that I left it there while I walked them home. Did a few other things at home, came back about 5.30pm and it was gone. Sharing just in case anyone sees it or finds it anywhere - it’s a few years old and the chain is a bit rusty/makes a clicking sound so maybe there’s a slight chance someone would dump it! Really annoying and just a reminder to be really careful with bikes. The picture shows the bike model from the Decathlon website.
    • Thanks, I didn't know that.  People are even more stupid than I thought then, if they are willing to wait hours in A&E for an ingrown toenail. I presume they don't get put at the front of the queue. Why isn't the 111 service more widely advertised? That puts you in touch with a doctor, who will advise on the phone or visit, and if necessary  you will be advised to go to A&E or they will arrange an ambulance to take you.
