In the quest for the ultimate double buggy for a toddler and newborn, I have come across the ABC Adventure Buggies from New Zealand. These are the ones where the second seat is up by the handle like these: http://adventurebuggycompany.com/twinbuggy.htm (scroll down to the Single Adventure Buggy with Top Mounted ABC Reclining Newborn/Toddler Seat).

I am seriously considering ordering one of these sight unseen from NZ, but would love to see one in person first. Does anyone have one of these or even any of the variations of the single buggy with toddler seat that I could take a look at?

Even that would be great, just to get a sense of the overall feel of it. I wonder why they're not more popular as so many people say they don't love the fact that the second seat on the Phil and Ted's is so low/tucked behind the other seat? They are pricey no doubt, but so are loads of buggies these days!

I did have one of these and can whole heartedly recommend it. Saved all the drama for nursery pickups as she loved going in the seat when she was tired. I had a phil and ted originally but found it a pain to push (in fact was having tendon pain in my wrist and that was just with one child). It was really easy to push with two kids in and very robust. Super simple setup but admittedly not the smallest when flat.

I didn't really take it out in the car much, so if you are looking for one to take in the car regularly then possibly not the one for you.

It has a huge basket with heaps of room for everyone's stuff (was quite traumatised when we downsized as could not fit all my fruit and vege shop underneath, now rock a bag lady look.

They do come up on ebay sometimes so worth looking on there.

That's really helpful, thanks! I don't have a car, so not as worried about having to fold up and down. The only issue is that I'm planning to store behind the house in a shed and might have to take the toddler seat on and off to get it in and out. Also, will want to be able to remove the toddler seat easily on the days that I'm just with one child or the other. Any thoughts on how much of a pain this will be?

Hmmm well, my seat was a little sticky to get on and off but not impossible and probably not helped by the fact I hardly ever took it off. I think it would get easier if you did it more often and it all loosened up a bit but couldn't guarentee that of course. Is a simple process of taking the handle bar off and sliding the seat off.

It was fine to use for just one child with the seat on, in fact the seat was v handy for putting shopping in...

Hi there, I just picked up on your post and I have an Adventure Buggy for sale. Mine is three years old but has been absolutely invaluable in getting me into walking a baby and toddler. I used this buggy right up until my daughter was four and she would still from time to time sit on the top seat obviously they do get heavy these babies but I cannot recommend the stability, quality or usefulness of this pram highly enough. Basically we are all now walking everywhere so it needs to go to save garage space but if you are interested send me an e mail. [email protected]. PS I'm not a rep for the company even if it sounds like it.
Alieh, i have one (i bought melbourne groovers one) and my toddler loves his seat "up high". My baby is also very cosy in the regular seat, which is very roomy and great for napping in. You're more than welcome to take a look / test drive. PM me if you're interested.

    • Would be nice to fly the English flag on all English Council and Government buildings in actual England for gods sake! and if the respectful invited newcomers in recent decades assimilated to our well established society, how nice would that be now? happy families and a prosperous exciting friendly future together. You know it makes sense!. 😉
    • As someone who's gradparents on both sides were immigrants, and someone old enough to remember my parents fear and anxiety over Enoch Powell I am deeply distubed by the rise of the far right, anti immigration and general xenophobia I am witnessing in the UK and in the tabloid press. seeing the cross of St George flag makes me shudder...rightly or wrongly I read it as a pro white anti anyone not of pure white christian origins. Within immigrants this country would be sc**wed.  I was born here but sadly I don't feel particularly at home here any longer.
    • Starmer was in the news today saying he flies a St. George's flag in his flat in Downing Street.   Make of that what you will. https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/keir-starmer-is-downing-streets-david-brent/ "Whenever Starmer tries to appear normal, he ends up sounding like a mixture of David Brent and the acid bath murderer. As he was asked about the proliferation of flags across the country, there came some absolutely classic examples of the genre. ‘I’m a supporter of flags’, he began. ‘I always sit in front of the Union Jack’, he insisted. Always? I can just imagine a flunky following the PM around – to his local, on trains, as he goes to the lavatory, just to ensure he is always in the presence of a Union Jack. Determined to make things even weirder, Starmer informed Chorley that he had a St George’s Flag up in his flat, as if he was trying to entice him upstairs in order to kill and eat him."
