The i

A new " paper for today " from the Independent

i have it here

i wish I didn't

i cant see the point

It's rubbish not very good & I can't see why they've bothered. In a market already covered by free papers of a similar quality, it doesn't make sense ( even at 20p )

News light & ad heavy

Am I missing something here ?

Simon Kelner quoted as saying

""What it is targeting are the people who like the ethos of a quality paper but don't have the time or inclination to sit down and read it.""

which is one of the most profoundly depressing things I've read in a while. It's like something Chris Morris made up

i picked it up on the bus last night, and liked it. It is, though, not as much as a laff as the 'Metro', nor is it anywhere near as good a read as the real Indy or Guardian for that matter. I can see it being pulled in about a year or so because I don't believe people, now used to free papers, will pay even 20p for it, even if it is a better quality read.
