Problem:

sometimes when I download CDs onto my PC/iTunes it will store a song(s) as a separate 'album', especially compilation/mix CDs, the worst case being every song on one CD was filed as a separate CD.

Is there a way I can move these 'albums' into the correct file, and in the case of mix CDs into the correct order?

Thanks in advance

Yeah, I posted something along these lines ages ago. I've got a load of DJ Kicks, Fabric etc compilations that splinter into separate files when added to the Itunes library. Annoying. I also have a number of albums on there that simply dont play anymore. Any help would be great.

You need to go into Preferences or Options (depending on which version of iTunes) and set a switch to say 'do not organise files when importing'. It might be under Importing > Advances Options or similar. (I'll check) if I get a moment.)

At the moment it's reorganising by artist, album etc., which of course produces daft results for mix CDs.

    • Although this sounds worrying, a "bitey" fox is unusual. I see foxes all the time where I live near Rye Lane and have never experienced this. I've even seen a fox sitting in the garden where an outdoor cat lives, whilst the cat was there - the cat was fine and is still alive. I think my flat is on a fox path because I hear and see them most nights, none of the local cats seem bothered by them. I can't help but wonder what would make the fox act in such a way, I've just read that toxoplasmosis might make them more aggressive

    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
