Its our first day as a family (all 3 of us together at once) tomorrow in what seems like ages...has anyone got any suggestions for what to do with a one year old who is nearly walking but not quite i.e. wants to get out pram all the time but can't quite toddle on his own yet?

Thought London Aquarium might be nice but its nearly ?35 for the 3 of us!! Has anyone been, is it worth it? Seem to have exhausted all the local playgrounds recently.

Any other suggestions appreciated as really looking forward to some quality family time OUT of the house!

The Horniman and the aquarium there is probably just as good at that age as the one up town.....unless you've seen enough of it already and want to go further afield. If it's just the 3 of you and you don't get that so often, maybe try not to do too much or you'll spend so much time getting there and back etc that you won't have time to enjoy being together.

Thanks for that link I've had a look and we might do Gambado in Beckenham...

Yes you are right nunheadmum about going too far, nap time is 12.30-3 so doesn't leave much time for travelling...just selfishly want to make the most of this lovely autumnn sunshine before it goes!

London aquarium is fab and our boy loved it at that age. We went back again in the summer when he was 2 and it still held him mesmerised! Plus the stroll along the river is lovely with boats being a huge attraction as well as the entertainers, which is all free of course. Plus there is a playground there if you wanted to take a picnic. Understand the nap bit but we would go with the flow on days like that when it was rare for us all to have a day out. Nap in pushchair?? Or no nap at all and have some fresh air?? Have a lovely day out!!
thanks everyone, really useful. went to gambado in the end in the morning (chucking it down) and then nice stroll through dulwich village autumn leaves this afternoon. cheap n cheerful. those links look really good for future esp 2 4 1....will bear in mind for next family sunday ;-)

    • If you’ve got four quid spare, go and try one. Myself, I like the mozzarella and spinach, but there’s no accounting.
    • More of a Steak Bake kinda thing, then.
    • You might want to try the Peckham Facebook community group. I am located in East Dulwich & have 2 well-used scratchers: A large single post (ideal for an adult cat) & a small cat tree with 2 short posts (ideal for kittens) While the wear & tear is nowhere near as bad as the one shown in the link below, ideally the sisal should be replaced to get the best use out of it (& neutralise the scent of another cat) hence why I haven't donated these to a shelter. You may find this link helpful: https://thegreenmadhouse.com/diy/how-to-repair-your-cat-scratcher But you can just get a brand new one between £10-£30 on Amazon that'll last much longer. It all depends on what type of scratcher you're looking for; material, size, vertical or horizontal. Your little lion will let you know by whether they're currently scratching down or up, like a mat or armchair for example. More than happy to send location & leave in front garden for pickup.
    • Would happily take it off your hands! Preferably in Peckham. Thanks 🙏🏻
