Determined to get to grips with your garden this year - prune those shrubs - have colour all year round - grow enough flowers so you have enough to cut and bring inside, maybe grow a few veg?

Sign up for a beginners gardening course held in a lovely East Dulwich garden. Saturday morning sessions beginning in March. Groups are small - max of 6 - giving you the opportunity to learn in an informal, relaxed setting. Learn how to make the best of the plants you have and which ones to buy to give you long lasting colour and form; how to look after and feed your soil; how to make your own compost; what to grow to encourage wildlife into your garden; which vegetables are easiest to grow and give the tastiest crop.

Cost includes all materials, free seeds, small plants, cuttings and tea and homemade cake. It's a great way to meet other local gardeners. Monthly starting March through to September, taking you right through your first growing season. Call Jane on 07952 898025 or email [email protected] for more info. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, Strawbs. The beginners' session runs from 10.30-12.30 on Saturdays. I'll be running one in the afternoon 2-4 for people who already know a bit about gardening and want to extend their knowledge. Jane

I can highly recommend Jane's course. I enrolled on the beginner's course last year and it was great, Jane is really knowledgeable and gave us lots of useful information, hints and tips without being too prescriptive about what we should do in our gardens.

It's given me the confidence to try out new planting ideas.

In addition, she provides delicious home made cakes. Win win!

    • Hello,  Does anyone know of a garage to rent in the East Dulwich area?  Best,  Anthony
    • So glad to give support in any small way. It happens more often than you think. I live near a footpath anf once came home from holiday to find that someone had poured paint through the bottom of the fence which had run all down through my soil and on to my plants. It was a job trying to dig out all the contaminated soil and to this day I still find bits of paint in the soil. No idea who it was or why they would do such a thing.
    • Glad this is back on, looking forward to seeing you all tonight
    • Hello,  I am a journalist for the Sunday Times investigating VW car badge's being stolen for a news story. I saw this thread and would love to speak to any of those who posted who had this happen to them. It doesn't have to be a VW, I'm also interested in covering other car owners/makes hit by this crime. My contact details are below - please get in touch if you can help or if you have heard about someone who has fallen victim to this locally  give them my details and let them know I would like to speak to them. Particularly interested in hearing from @KB77 @jim_the_chin @d walker @ed26 @OG25  on this thread if you could email or call me. Thanks!
