Hello,

Has anyone got any recommendations for local salons for children that specialise in mixed-race hair?

I'm looking for somewhere to get my 2 year old daughter's hair cut / styled. My preference would be a natural hair salon or alternatively a stylist that could come to our home.

Many thanks

PG

Hi Pinkgrapefruit

Best thing to do is take her to a South American hair stylist. I have mixed girls with 'crazy' hair. Crazy because the texture and 'look' can be very deceiving - even to Afro/caribbeans (such as myself). It has taken me 6 years to find good stylists but they are Brazilian - in Stratford shopping centre.

Closer to Dulwich you can go to any Dominican hair stylist in the Brixton area or near Elephant & Castle. Google them.

Afro and European stylists tend to be too harsh or too gentle with the hair - unless of course you are looking for braids in which case any will do!

    • Can you explain what your point was, then? Because it isn't clear to me. No. Perhaps you could provide a link and explain its relevance? That would be helpful
    • Anyone can deliver for Evri - my daughter having just passed her driving test tried Evri to make some money - they basically give you a route and as many parcels as they think you can cope with - you make money for each one you deliver, so you can imagine - speed is the priority. Why would they wait for you to answer the door when they can just throw it and take a photo? If you have a choice, choose a different courier service or shop elsewhere where they do.
    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
