My broadband and tv went down yesterday morning , A area fault so called ,fixed today but mine hasn't come back on and have to wait till next week for engineers. Any one else without sevice at all . Trying to find out if still area fault or just mine fed up of lies from Virgin media
Virgin claim there is no problem in the area, although they admit lots of people in the area have engineers booked! So if anyone is just waiting in the hope it will get fixed, please give them a call. By the time the engineer comes we'll have had 7 days without tv or internet.

We've had problems since last August and the excuse from Virgin keeps changing. Now they say it is that the system has to be upgraded to cater for usage and it will be April until it can be rectified. They will only refund ?15 a month for a service that doesn't work. Is Sky also affected?

I had no problem with my virgin broadband but my landline phone was dead for three days , second time in 6 months. The Virgin engineer informed me that it is a problem with rats getting into the underground cable housings, and that they have all been alerted to Weils disease and issued with rubber gloves for their own protection. It seemed unbelievable at the time ......but .... maybe?

    • Fired Earth as a whole went into administration unfortunately - doesn't seem to have been a Dulwich problem specifically. Does anyone know how much the rent is for these Dulwich Village storefronts?
    • It is most likely gas, with what looks like a stop cock, and although the pipe may well have been isolated later from the supply you should get in a gas safe engineer to remove it. At worst it might need to be capped off beneath the floor boards. Don't interfere with it yourself.
    • Sorry, I know this isn't strictly an East Dulwich topic but as there are so many late-Victorian properties in the area I wondered if anyone has seen anything similar in their house and can advise. We have what looks like an old gas outlet on the back wall of our daughter's bedroom which we'd like to remove, but we weren't sure whether it's safe to do so. Do I just call a registered gas engineer to check it out? And is it definitely a gas outlet or might it be something else? It's at floor level so maybe electricity but it doesn't look like any electricity outlet I've ever seen! Has anyone had any experience of dealing with something similar?
    • Just had a look at the above web sites you listed. Mot tax look for free .but you still need to pay to get service results.sàme as the ones I liste
