Lordship Lane - best highstreet in London? (The Times)

Seems like a decent article to me. Remember it's probably written by someone who doesn't know the area as well as us, for people who don't know it at all and it seems to give a good overview.

And believe me, very few journalists have the opportunity to be lazy these days.

Yeh, let's just bring in all the high street chains, then we can live somewhere that looks just like everywhere else in the country :-S

Peckham and Camberwell are both within easy walking distance of Lordship Lane, FFS :))

And there's also a Boots in Forest Hill, should you happen to live at the other end of East Dulwich.

In fact we're surrounded by Boots branches :))

    • That is correct, the collection and delivery operations are separate - the delivery operations work from Delivery Office (DOs) - such as Peckham - whereas collection goes directly to Sorting Offices. What is true however is that there are more daily collections from Post Boxes associated with Main and sub Post Offices - so if you need something to go urgently using one of these will get your post to a sorting Office quicker. [A confusion can arise because the final sort of post into 'walks' is done at the DOs - but post collected from boxes does not go to DOs directly].
    • I also thought the collection vans did not also deliver at the same time, or at least up town they operate very separately. Does anyone else know more?
    • We were trying to contact Steve on 07990904375, following this post and yet there wasn't any reply from this number. Is it a correct number to contact Steve for decoration work?
