panto for under fives - any recommendations?

Can anybody recommend a panto (preferaly fairly local) that's suitable for pre schoolers?

We took them to see Mother Goose in Greenwich last year and they were so scared we had to leave before the interval. There was a scary witch who kept appearing with a big bang and lots of smoke.

Are they all scary these days or should we give it another go?

Almost sold out but you could perhaps try this - an adapatation of Oliver Jeffer's Lost and Found.

I've mentioned on another thread here that the Adventure Theatre at Polka is designed exclusively for the under 5s - a small intimate space for just 70 children it offers a lovely age-specific introduction to theatre. And the theatre itself is designed for children - with a dressing up box; book corner; playground and garden. Also a child-friendly cafe.

Thank you, looks perfect. Shame they are so booked up but if we don't manage to get seats for this one I will keep an eye out for their next production.

The Snowman (at The Peacock) is very Christmassy, although not a panto, and is designed to be good for 2 years up.

I agree - my (nearly 6 years old) kids are so easily scared, there are even some CBeebies programmes they won't watch but they absolutely LOVED the Snowman, would highly recommend. It is magical.

Not Panto, but Soho Theatre does brilliant shows for pre-schoolers. This season they are doing Bagpuss. Reasonably priced as well.
