Well I do to listen to Gary. Without him I'd never have made a "compilation" of all the static, white noise & general clicks on my old L.P's. I've also recorded ( in my mind ) an imaginary "compilation" of the horrible things I'd like to say to him.

Bring back Danny in what ever state he is, even him snoring down the mic would be better

Anyway "it's bottom of the hour" now, which means shopping time

:)

Absolutely - The Candyman is a radio titan, even if I don't listen to his show my hat's on the side of my head knowing he's on the airwaves.

And of course Gary Crowley is an arse-headed goof of the first order, he once interviewed Ian Hunter on the 25th anniversary rerelease of his first solo LP, among his first questions was 'When was it released?'.

Not fit to carry The Candyman's mini-discs.

    • Thanks jazzer, jazzer,  Jazzer 😀 I don't know either of those pubs, believe it or not, so I will google the Heaton Arms, thank you (and thanks for the tip about the easiest way!) ETA: Well, I googled it and apparently it was demolished in 2005 🤣 but I guess it was somewhere near Heaton Road. ETA again: It looks like I can get a 63 or 363 from the stop near the end of Barry Road, so assuming that's open that would be easier.
    • Niko hardly needs another recommendation but we use him regularly. He's good value, he turns up when he says - or tells you if he can't - and definitely knows what he is doing.
    • Ian the guy who used to own the garage left last year. The place is run by someone else now. Ian was our reliable mechanic for many years, a sad loss. We now use Turners on Barry Road.
    • Agreed that Niko is really good: he was helpful and explained everything in detail, and did a good job fixing the problem I had. He was also honest rather than trying to drum up a bigger (more expensive) job for himself by telling me everything needed replacing etc. He charged a very reasonable rate. Will definitely call him when I need a plumber again and would recommend!
