After having had a pretty woeful experience with some of the doctors at the DMC, I did not hold too high an opinion of the DMC. But my wife just came back raving about Dr. Prabhakaran and wanted me to sixth (or seventh) her. I am a bit reluctant to do so, coz then it might become nigh impossible to request an appointment with her. ;-)
Can I urge those of you that have had really positive experiences with the GPs (or any other health professional for that matter) to drop in a note to that effect for their attention and that of the managers. Naturally, people are more likely to put in a complaint (and it is right to) but praise also goes a long way to improve care and reinforce good practice - one way to know that you are doing a good job is to be told that you are :)

Thank you - you've reminded me that I was going to send a card to Dr Sathiya a few months ago to thank her for her very kind, sensitive and professional practice! Am writing it now... She's a star.

    • I imagine Franco Manca's business dropped off quite a bit when Yard Sale opened (though isn't Yard Sale delivery only?) But in any case, both of those are chains.
    • Thanks. I'll call them shortly as I could get there without the car.  That's good of Sainsburys! We've done the apple pie and tart thing, an ongoing muesli thing and the coleslaw thing - just not sure what effect all the sugars are having on our digestive tracts.  If we were in Somerset and had a press, I'd consider it. Can't be that diffcult, can it?
    • One time Sainsbury's delivered 6 bags of apples instead of 6 single apples which I couldn't possibly get through. I phoned Pecan in Peckham to ask if they would accept them despite their website stating no fresh foods. I must have phoned at just the right time as they were happy to accept them. Sainsburys gave me a refund so the donation was courtesy of them. Or you could experiment with all kinds of apple recipes and write a blog about it
    • There's a food bank off Dog Kennel Hill. Albrighton Community Fridge. https://www.albrightoncommunityfridge.org/ I'm sure they would welcome them, but maybe check first, as they don't actually mention fresh fruit on their website? But apples aren't that perishable. Drop off seven days a week 9 - 5. Be warned if you are going by car, parking can be very difficult, easiest if there are two of you so one person can take the food in while the other can move the car if necessary.
