Tarot
There are a lot of people who are curious about how these markets are run, like where do you get the stall from,2, what can you sell.3 is there a waiting list, 4 can you just have one day, can a boot sale situation develop, maybe that would be better on the Rye or Goose Green. How many salls we talking about, Who gets paid, and what do they do with the money. There are a lot of people wanting to sell things, they are missing their boot sales especially in this recession. MissDumpling
To trade on North Cross Road, you have to apply to Southwark Street Trading for a temporary licence. They grant licences on the basis of pitches available, commodities offered, etc. Not sure if there's a waiting list for Saturdays at the moment. If you get a licence, you then trade as regularly as you wish, paying only for those days. You have to provide your own stall. The pitch fees go to Southwark Council.Hope that answers a few of your questions, Tarot. James Barber
Their is a waiting list for Saturday. Hence the public consultation about increasing the number of pitches from 20 to 30. Tarot
Over the past few years ,boot sales are in decline in most of south London, Footsies for one, mainly due to councils not allowing them to hold any.
