Callie
Did anyone else get one through their door yesterday? Just a picture of rescue cat asking not to feed as needs special medicine. No contact no or anything,or to say it's lost. A bit strange/annoying, depending what way you take it lol.just to add I'm talking about getting a flier through the door (not the cat!) :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/143692-cat-toby-flier/ Share on other sites
nxjen
Maybe the cat isn't lost but is just a polite request from the owner not to feed it if it takes a shine to you and convinces you it hasn't eaten for a week. Neither strange nor annoying. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/143692-cat-toby-flier/#findComment-1108504 Share on other sites
edcam
Why s that strange or annoying? It's a very sensible thing to do. Don't be stupid. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/143692-cat-toby-flier/#findComment-1108506 Share on other sites

Neither strange nor annoying.I don't go near other people's pets let alone feed them. Maybe not strange or annoying to you but it is to me & I'm pretty sure I'm not alone. katanita
Not sure I understand why it's strange or annoying. As someone with a rescue cat who had special dietary needs, I did have cause to wonder at one point if someone else might be feeding him which would explain why he was still getting sick. Some people might not realise that this could be an issue and I have certainly heard of people feeding strange cats that turn up at their door. So if my cat was continuing to get sick, I might well be driven to send a note round to nearby neighbours in case. Just ignore if it doesn't apply to you. Callie
@ Katanita, I was asking if anyone else got the note, that was my main question. We all know what the note means, it's self explanatory & yes I am ignoring it as it doesn't apply to me Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/143692-cat-toby-flier/#findComment-1108632 Share on other sites
edcam
If it's self explanatory, why are you posting about it? If you don't care, why are you making such a ridiculous fuss? Liss345
This thread seems to have gotten a little heated!Hi Callie - I got the flyer too. Completely understand the rationale behind the flyer.Toby is quite well known in the area - always see him having fights with other cats. In fact I have literally just seen him having a massive fight with a big ginger moggie in our front garden - a lady passing the fight had to intervene with her M&S shopping bags! poppet27
This isn't our cat, but we have done the same thing. It was on the advice of our vet, so no, not stupid at all. Our cat got overweight, then ill as someone was continually luring him and and tempting him with food. As a pet owner, there's nothing nice about having to pay ?500 in vet bills and medicine because he's eaten something meant for humans. Letting the neighbours know not to feed is the only preventive thing. Fully support Toby's owners Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/143692-cat-toby-flier/#findComment-1121131 Share on other sites
