My two sat at a separate table laden with snacks and toys - worked a treat (until home time, at which point 4yo declared it wasn't dark enough yet and threw a strop... that'll teach me for promising that they'd get to have an adventure and ride their scooters in the dark!).

Nice to meet you all today.

Having started this thread, I REALLY apologise for not making it yesterday. Yet again, my little boy has come down with a nasty stomach bug and we have spent the last 3 days climbing the walls whilst doing copious amounts of washing! It sounds as though it was a great success though. I'm praying we'll be fit and well by next week!

I have to confess that despite starting this thread, we didn't make it to either of the meets due to illness first him and then me! We're away this week but if you do get it up and running again Thursday afternoon at The Plough we'll try for the following week.
I'd love to meet up and our afternoons post nap are sometimes a bit dull...but toddler sleeps until 3pm and is runaway prone - so I have no idea where to suggest as suitable meeting place! The plough not great - doors/behind bar exploration etc!! Maybe if we can find some secure outdoor space once summer comes we can join you...

Fences need to be high - Dulwich park for example is easy to escape from!! Out of interest when do they stop doing this? The running away bit I mean? It's totally tedious, and not really about being naughty, it's more that he just has NO sense of danger etc yet.

Anyway....hopefully we will get to meet sometime...I'm a bit scared about facing the world with 2 - 1 has been enough of a challenge so far!!

I think the peak is from starting to walk until about 2 1/2. Our twins are much better now, though i still prefer well fenced areas, and ones with few perils. Duliwhc park fails on allcounts - how decided it was a good idea to put a roundabout between the toddler slides?!

I haven't dared take mine there since they built the big high thing (plus I still have residual post trauatic stress since the "nappy fell off and huge poo at the bottom of the slide" incident.)

Is it safe for toddlers?

Ps there is also section for small children so would be ok for new walkers as well!

It is outside (so brass monkeys) but not sure there is really anything suitably child friendly and indoors in ED. Everywhere will usually accept children but not really geared up to contain/keep them out of trouble for any length of time!

What about a session at a softplay centre?

    • You'd need to get a proper quote (or three) for instance removing a cast iron bath is a very different job from removing an acrylic one. Again what pipe work will be being joined into - matching old imperial pipes with modern metric ones is different from like to like, as is dealing with a copper or an iron distribution system. The amount (area) of retiling required is an issue, as will be the state of the wall behind the tiles. It may of course all be very plain sailing, or not. Have a first look at plumber recommendations on the relevant pages on this site. If it's all easy then 3 days work may be sufficient. But it could be a week if there are snags.
    • Hi. Can anyone suggest a plumber for the job below? Replace bath tub with a shower enclosure, putting pipes to showerhead behind wall, re-titling damaged/removed tiles Also any idea of the costs involved for the labour as we will buy the items required?
    • Aria came round to fix my tub drain when I'd messed up the seal. Came within hours, fixed the tub, and ran a bath to make sure it was okay. Here's where the fun starts. While he was over, I asked him questions about the rest of the plumbing round the house. I had just moved into a Victorian home that was previously being rented. Unsurprisingly, we found another leak in the tub and a drip in the kitchen tap.  He came back the next day to put a better pipe in my bathtub and replace the kitchen sink. Painstakingly figured out how to replace the hard-to-access kitchen sink without cutting through the wood panel with the help of his builder friend, Mark. Answered all my questions and clearly knew his stuff. All this right before Christmas holidays!
