Recommending Benchmark Loft Company

I just wanted to put a review up for Benchmark Lofts as we had an excellent experience using them. They have done a fantastic job with our loft, they were tidy, polite, happy to let my toddler cause chaos and even finished exactly on time. They were also the only company to suggest a different configuration allowing us to avoid a macerator in the bathroom - and I'm really pleased with the layout.

I found them through the forum and got several other quotes in too. They weren't the cheapest but were nowhere near the highest and overall the quality is great. Thomas is the main guy and is on site virtually every day so easy to ask questions and sort out any little issues. My daughter still asks when she can see him again!

Sadly haven't heard back from Benchmark Lofts despite emailing them twice over the past 2 weeks to try and get a quote. No idea if they've gone out of business but if you can't even get a quote out of a company guess they wouldn't be very responsive if you were trying to sort out an issue you had?!

    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
    • That is also a Young's pub, like The Cherry Tree. However fantastic the menu looks, you might want to ask exactly who will cook the food on the day, and how. Also, if  there is Christmas pudding on the menu, you might want to ask how that will be cooked, and whether it will look and/or taste anything like the Christmas puddings you have had in the past.
