Hi all,

We were advised of confusion over previous threads and the title. All amended now and previous thread removed to avoid confusion. Apologies, we are still finding our feet since taking over from our previous and much loved moderator. Thank you all for your patience and congratulations on your pregnancies!

Hi, I'd like to join too! It'd be great to get in touch with people in the local area having babies at the same time. I live in West Dulwich and I'm due in October with my second. I'd also welcome any advice on how to prepare for baby number 2 (my daughter will be about 20 months when baby comes) - can anyone recommend any good books?!

Me too! Due with my second on 14th October (snap on the due dates JRK!).

Jaymey, no good book recommendations I'm afraid, although I saw a second baby class advertised on the East Dulwich Mums facebook page which might be worth looking into if you're after some helpful tips xx

Anyone due in September? I'm thinking I might potentially sneak into this group, as my next child is due on the 27th of August (and my 3 year old was 6 days late) :-)

I'm hoping for a 1st September arrival date, but I know that in reality, babies come when they feel like it :-D

Hi!

I'm due end of October with my second and keen to meet up with others in the area. My son will be 5 once this one comes along so I feel like I'm a new mum again to be honest - forgotten pretty much everything about the early months....

Looking forward to saying hello

Ellie

Hi all, I am part of the Autumn Babies club 2016 and loved it so thoroughly recommend!

We have also recently set up a blog and Twitter account to share all of our crazy stories and advice if you live in the Peckham Dulwich area. Good pubs with changing facilities, good events etc.

I hope it helps you and feel free to ask for any advice!

I'd be up for that. I can do weekday eves, although they are harder with babysitting issues etc. Definitely cannot do Wednesdays as other half doesn't get home until much after 10. My preference would be weekend afternoon, but obviously will fit in with what the majority can do.

(Glad there's someone else in the larger than average age gap, Alison! We told ours last weekend. He's 'processing' - i.e. didn't really have a reaction apart from saying he wanted a brother, has since not mentioned it.)

Anyone else enormous already? Only c. 16 weeks but looking more like I did at 20+ with the first one. People are asking the twins question, even those who know I've had two scans: no, seriously, I don't think a high ranking research centre like the FMC at Kings would actually miss one at 12 weeks. C'mon.....

    • Happy birthday! I've just read a bunch of your reviews and really enjoyed it. You write Interestingly without being too ornate, and you manage to give a really good insight into the "vibe" of a place as well as the food. Totally agree with your review of Rocca - it's simple, great food in a friendly atmosphere at a completely reasonable price, esp considering the location.
    • Hello,  I am a 52-year old mother and an integrative counsellor who lives and works in West Dulwich, SE21. In mid January I am starting a new training in Parent Infant Psychotherapy (helping parents to bond with their babies), and a key component of the course is a 24-month infant observation.  I’m looking for someone who will be giving birth ideally in January or February and who would allow me to observe their baby for one hour a week until the baby’s second birthday. The baby can be awake or asleep, playing, feeding, eating or interacting with carer/s and family members - whatever they normally do at that time.  The purpose of the observation is to enable me to gain a thorough knowledge of very early infant development and to develop the capacity to maintain an observationally minded and non-judgemental attitude in my work as an infant-parent psychotherapist.  I will provide enhanced DBS clearance and I’m happy to answer any questions.  Please forward this email to anyone who might be interested, email me at [email protected] or call me on 07949716043. I would be extremely grateful for any leads. Many thanks,  Millie  Millie Burton, MBACP Integrative Counsellor [email protected] millieburton.com
    • I keep my promises...had the Sweet & Sour Chicken.  It was great - the best sweet and sour dish I've ever had. The chicken itself was good and the sauce seemed home made with real vegetables and pineapple - it is NOT the red sugar sauce goo you get elsewhere.  The Korean fried chicken was very good but the sweet chili sauce was much more chili than sweet - just far too spicy for me. There is a honey something sauce that I will get next time. Egg fried veggie rice was good as a side.  We also ordered the chicken katsu curry which was polished off so quickly I didn't get to taste it. It looked very good tho. SD is not like Magic Wok used to be - cheap and filling but junk food. (Don't get me wrong - I went often to Magic Wok). SD's food is much higher quality, real ingredients, chunky portions, freshly prepared. I'll be back, for sure.
    • I saw these pair of ducks opposite Peckham rye today not quite sure what breed they are as I've never seen ones like them before
