Doubt it has been properly investigated because nothing to be gained politically, but judging by the amount of building dust in the air (only took two days to heavily coat newly washed car in grime) I wonder how much throw em up developers plus the obligatory loft and extension conversions of many residents, add to air pollution and respiratory issues?

I put in an enquiry about the ice cream vans and it looks like soon they will be electric vehicles. The response is below.

Renata

The council recently tendered its catering concession contracts in parks together with the ice creams concessions. The concession holder is permitted to trade within the park and on the common. In terms of fumes we have specified that all vehicles must all be adaptable to operate on electric. We are currently surveying all our major park sites including Packham Rye Park to install electrical points so that all vehicles run their concession on electric. We will programme in all works to be completed by March 2018.

    • Now I have heard everything…..not send your kid to a school because you don’t like the name - so to get my head around this, if school is outstanding, parents won’t send their child there because of name of school? Or have I not understood?
    • A quick Google says that it is not undersubscribed unlike many subject schools so those claims mentioned above may not be true. Last Ofsted was good.  You are definitely right about the money. This is what trusts do. Remove word ‘subject’ above Remove word ‘subject’ above I can’t edit my ridiculous errors but would like to apologise  for messy post
    • I have heard claims that people don't send their children there because of the name of the school..?  I genuinely cannot get my head around this one. The school is named after the road it is on which is named after the history of the area!  'Grove Primary School' is potentially the most boring name they could have come up with, and for a school struggling financially, is rebranding the school really the best use of funds?
    • Certainly unique, can't argue with that.
