Hello,

We seem to have a large family of mice living with us.

Seems the best way to convince them to move out is to have a cat in the house, but we don't want to commit to owning one.

Could we look after your cat while you go on holiday and save you the cost of a cat-sitter or cattery?

We have a garden but no cat flap. Someone is in the house during the day though, so your cat could be let in and out.

Please get in touch if you think we could help each other.

Thanks,

Shol

Recommendation for pest control - To say I was sceptical was an understatement due to hardly any reviews for Superproof. How wrong was I! They have just completely mouse proofed my one bedroom flat. Which took 9 hours!! They go round every room with a fine tooth pick. Filling all gaps and holes. I have a mice phobia and was planning on moving house after seeing 4 mice in the space of 2 days. It's now been a week and absolutely no sign of the little pests. Best money spent in a long time. More expensive than your average pest control but you can't compare the two as they are completely different. One lays traps and focuses on poison etc etc which I wasn't really keen on as I have a dog and didn't want anything like that around. Also traps work to a certain extent but why use traps forever which in the long term would cost you more than one off superproof payment, when you can just stop all entry points? Can't recommend them highly enough. As I said I have a phobia and was paranoid so they arranged for another member of the team to check the areas and reassure me that all entry points have been filled. I can now rest well and know I won't be seeing them again! And if I do you have a 1 year guarantee so superproof would come back at no extra cost. That's how sure they are about their service.

Hi, cheers for the responses.

Pugwash I'm sure you're right, perhaps a house cat would be better suited for our purposes. We did actually do this before about 5-6 years ago, looked after a friend's cat for a bit, and mouse-wise it seemed to do the job, until recently.

Phlox that could well be a good notion, I will look into it.

    • It was a reactionary post and inappropriate when talking about a real case and a real person who was harmed.  London streets are generally pretty safe.  Sadly violent crime happens from time to time, as it always has.
    • Do tell, CPR Dave, what the spiteful jealous stuff is - I'm intrigued.  Agree - Burnham is a top class communicator (polar opposite of Starmer) he'd do a great job of uniting the party. I still think Wes Streeting has the edge, though I'm sure he has more enemies as well.
    • This is a huge part of the problem.   Starmer is only interested in himself, not in what is best for our country.    There's a litany of stuff he's done for spiteful jealous personal reasons which has damaged the nation enormously. Burnham would be a much better leader than of the other dross left behind when Starmer goes. To inflict a worse leader (and PM) upon us for his own selfish reasons would add to the problems and be entirely in keeping with his woeful premiership so far.
    • I heard today there was a burglary in Lacon Road yesterday evening between 20.00 - 22.00,  apparently the owners were home at the time & thieves got away with electrical items along with the owners car!  Wtf!   Anyone heard anything else?
