I've had some food delivered for Christmas in two medium sized polystyrene boxes, unfortunately the company doesn't operate a 'return/reuse' scheme so I'm left wondering, yet again, how best to dispose of this stuff. I've googled around a bit and can't find a recycling option nor any place that might be interested in reuse. So probably just the bin or the depot where it'll end up in the general waste too?

Any other ideas?

Thanks, Dagmar

Thanks Saffron, but I've only got a small garden and have already done this in the past (using broken up polystyrene to fill the bottom of big pots). But maybe I'll just hang on to the boxes for a bit and put them in the cellar and hope that something will come up.

I'll mail the company again too as really think they should reuse them. We get meat from another mail order company sometimes and they they give you a ?5 credit if you post back their boxes.

    • I’d also recommend Paul for electrical work. He came round the other week to help us out with a handful of jobs (installing an SPD, new light fittings, installing a dimmer switch, a bathroom fan). His quote was cheaper than what I got from others, he turned up on time and he got the job done quickly.
    • We’d like to add our recommendation for Lukasz and team at L&L Building & Maintenance.  Lukasz has recently installed a roof terrace for us, and we’ve found him a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We contacted about a dozen recommended builders and found his quote very competitive. During the build his team delivered quality work, they were no hassle in the house at all and they kept the place tidy every day. The terrace looks great, and we’re very happy customers. What stood out in particular was Lukasz’s responsiveness, right from discussing quotes to follow-up during the build. Lukasz often checked in and was always available when we needed him.  We’ll definitely contact Lukasz again for future building work and we’d happily recommend him to others looking for a reliable builder.   Lukasz Kugaczewski L&L Building & Maintenance 07926651960 [email protected] www.landl-build.com
    • Yes, I did mention the train, which I now get from East Dulwich to Guys instead of the 40. Depends where in East Dulwich you are starting from which route is easiest! I think it is probably lack of staff rather than lack of hospitals which is the problem?
    • What can be done? How about reporting it to the police?
