East Dulwich-wide Yard Sales?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new to the area but in previous boroughs there were often pre-arranged dates for area-wide yard sales, i.e. a weekend with those with bits to sell open their front or back garden to sell to neighbours and so you can do a little trail of houses in the area and shop people's odds and ends/paint tins/kids clothes/baked goods and the like - anything like this in ED? Thanks! Alex

I quite like this idea, as I often have items to dispose of & it means that I could focus on doing a yard sale on a particular weekend, rather than just 'sometime soon'

However, it would need someone to loosely organise it and I don't have any free time atm.

Steve

Time and mind sets have changed.....so people are down sizing or just freeing up space in their homes......so the Jumble trail is the method being used at the moment .....It's good ,If you want to champion it in your area ....get in touch on line

They take away most of the work.....Try it......a good community project, without the trappings of going to a car boot or the like

There are several local jumble trails in the area including this one in Peckham http://www.jumbletrail.com/event/SE152017. Plus we have our own Dulwich Festival this month during which local artists open their homes to visitors.

Edited: not suggesting art works are jumble, it's just a similar nice neighbourhood vibe!

Hi

Despite my good intentions, I've had too much on to get organised

If anyone is interested in holding a yard sale in September let me know which dates are good for you, & I'll register the most popular date on jumble trail, & put a post in the "what's on" section

(Not 2nd Sept as I think that's the date for Peckham Rye Fete)

Best wishes (& happy sorting!)

    • The OP might have found the ‘Creative Trump’ protests entertaining but I found them very disrespectful to our late and great Queen Elizabeth who was interred at Windsor Castle 3 years ago.  They would have had more impact on projecting the images at Chequers today.
