I've realised the only way to fit any exercise in, is to do it during the day and have just discovered Bec Spa has a creche open to non members. But feeling a bit of a scaredy cat about leaving my 6 month old there. Just wondered if anyone has used the creche there and can confirm it's ok etc psrticularly for younger babies. I just thought I could try it for half an hour while I do a quick swim once a week and he's at an age where he doesn't really know I've gone.
Bishberro, I haven't tried the one at beckhenham spa, but i do use the one at dulwich pools regularly. My 8 month old has been going there since she was 6 months for an hour a week while i take her big brother swimming. I think it's really quite nice, new, bright and clean, plus most importantly I get a good vibe from the two ladies that run it. They'll do bottles and snacks, but they don't do nappies (which I think is pretty standard). Apologies, I know that doesn't directly answer your question, but it's just something else to think about.

Hi,

I have used this creche for two of my children who were then aged 2 and 3 months. I had no problem with it, my older child really enjoyed playing there and my younger one was mainly left under a playgym or in a bouncer. They are pretty strict with ratio of staff to children and you can also give them instructions such as letting your baby sleep in a pram while you're exercising.

Good luck!

Yes! I absolutely love it, and have left both of mine there since they were teeny. As my daughter, who is now 2, says "I love the Crechey Ladies!". The same group of (older) ladies have run it for at least the last 4 years when I started taking my son - they are like lovely grannies.

They are happy to do nappies and give drinks, but no snacks. If the child gets upset they will come and get you, but are very sensible about it all.

I can't recommend it highly enough, I think they are super (and were a godsend in the run up to Christmas when I dropped my daughter for an hour and did my Christmas cards etc in the cafe). You do need to book in advance though (3 days if non member, 12 days in advance if member).

What Mellors said. Have used it loads over the last couple of years and cannot recommend it highly enough. There was no staff turnover at all while I was using it which is briliant for the kids, and even the holiday cover staff are usually the same each time. The manageress was great with my LO, especially when he initially took a little while to settle.

Go for it - just get into a habit of booking it well in advance as it does get busy!

I too can't rave more about BS creche. Have been leaving both children there since they were both 3 months and they love it. The same women for the last 3 1/2 yrs and they are just lovely. They change the toys and layout daily so always new and interesting and it's a perfect way to go to the gym (or even take a book and sit in the cafe and have a break!!!).

    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
    • I haven't used them myself but I noticed recently that "Snoots" in Forest Hill is going unlimited primary care for £33/month, so basically a subscription. Easy access on the 176 from East Dulwich. I have no idea what it includes so read the contract! It's a chain but only 5 branches so not a mega corporate. 🤷‍♂️ https://www.snootsvet.com/find-us
