Currently there is a free Street Fighter game, as well as Max Payne 3 for ?3.75 (or something) and "Bully" for ?3, which I'd always thought about trying, so for that money I'm in.

Am giving Godus a go, the crowd funded 'revolutionary' god game promised by conceptual gaming guru Peter Molyneux.

After studiously avoiding the micro-transactions *desperate sigh...aaah it's free* my conclusion was it is a much prettier version of populous with terrible control issues and no fun.


Still, I'll pick it up every now and then to see what prettiness my mortals will produce, it *is* very pretty, though you have to destroy all that prettiness to make a go of it, but hey.


Tut tut Peter, we expect better from you.

No, no it's not


I always like Pete M - but I've never enjoyed a single game of his really. I bought them, I played them - but I always felt I was doing it because I was told they were good


Fable is a beautiful world but did I enjoy playing it? I feel bad for not being more enthusiastic

he made populous, syndicate, black & White, the Fable games, Dungeon Keeper, Theme Park.


I loved populous back then, like sj i didn't really take to black & white as much as i wanted to, I really enjoyed Dungeon Keeper, amd syndicate was pretty good.


ANd yeah, Fable was good. A little unsatisfactory and the cool ideas didn't translate to any real point in the game, but they were still fun.

      In part, it’s largely down to people not actually caring about anyone or anything else apart from their own gratification (btw, there are better ways to get a dopamine fix)

      I totally agree it just seems that it a thing nowadays.  It must be due to how fireworks are sold.

      If it was limited to a couple of days a year, so we all knew, that would be fine. In the last few years (and it is a recent thing) you get random fireworks going off any time after dusk for half the year. It does more than cause problems for pets and wildlife- it can mean lasting damage and massive expense and hassle for pet owners. All because some get a buzz out of loud bangs.
