1/2 day nurseries

Hello - are there any nurseries in ED that take children for 1/2 days (before school nursery)

Yes - I know there's Oaktree Nursery (Tell grove), which is 2 and up for short days or half day sessions, and Buds, up near the Harvester, similar but is term time only. They were the only two we looked at, but there may be others.

There's also Magic Moments creche, which does morning sessions that are just over 2 hours long (both of my kids have been there, just my youngest goes now and loves it). They take children from about 18 months upwards.

How much is the Magic Moments, out of interest. My son is about to start at Oak Tree but I have been a bit alarmed by the price hike since my daughter was there. Is ?28 a morning market rate now? Obviously should ring around but haven't quite got to it....

Magic Moments is ?10 per session - drop off at 9:45am and pick up at 12.15pm.

I think Buds is similar, and Oaktree morning session is 3.5 hours I think - so bit longer than MM? Agree the price hike was a shock, had gone up quite a bit from when we looked round. PM me if your son does end up going as mine is starting in Feb.

Dulwich Village Preschool has morning and afternoon sessions aswell. It is just along from buds and is a wonderful little nursery.

Think it is ?8 per session (2.5 hours)...but don't quote me :)

Does anyone think that any of these nurseries are good for 3 year olds particularly? A lot of these places seem to be lovely for 2 / 2.5 year olds, but less stimulating perhaps for the oldest children. Any thoughts appreciated, I am forever searching!

Amott Road Nursery is practically free if child is over 3. They do mornings.

Puddleduck was great for our first child when he was 3.

we had puddleduck in mind, but tis a bit far now unfortunately.

Buds is very good.

They follow a curriculum for children over three years old.

It's a lovely place too, the staff are very warm and friendly,and they have a nice outdoor area.

Don't suppose anyone knows of 1/2 day nurseries closer to the nunhead/ivydale road area which might take a 2 year old by any chance.

Some of these nurseries mentioned look good, but may be a little out of my way by the time I drop off an pick up will only have about an hour or so at home for chores catch up. Thanks

I was told a while back about St Mary's in Nunhead (Tel 020 7277 6255). It was a while ago and I didn't look into it further and not sure about ages etc but maybe give them a call.

Don't think it's church linked but I really don't know a lot.
