AnneBowers
Our son is moving on from his childminder Lorna (sob!). He will have been with her since he was 7 months old but it is now time for nursery. Lorna has been nothing short of amazing. She is loving, kind, playful, observant, flexible, communicative, straightforward - everything you could want. She's all of these things for parents just as much as she is for the children. Our son has flourished under Lorna's care. He runs to her door every day and gives her a big hug when she opens the door. We can tell he feels very safe, very secure and he has some great friends. She's flexible and accommodating - Our son wears cloth nappies - not a problem; another child (his best friend) is a vegetarian and again no problem. She's partnered with us when he was weaning and now that we are trying (and trying) potty training. Lorna offers advice and guidance gently and when asked - but not when not. On a day to day basis Lorna offers an excellent mix of the small scale of a childminder (giving our son one key person to whom he is very attached and feels very comfortable) with larger group and socialisation through daily morning groups with other children. They have picnics and parties and swimming and ... I could not recommend her highly enough.
