Hi all

A group of NCT mums are looking for a place to hold our babies' first birthday in the first week of April. A restaurant/pub with a room for hire would be great, so the active ones can crawl around. Or failing that, somewhere with the space to host 12 adults and 6 babies (6 highchairs needed!) Any suggestions most welcome.

A lot of the pubs have space that you could use:

Herne

Mag

Plough (conservatory area)

as well as the likes of the Florence which has a dedicated kids room.

Alternatively Locale has a separate room which we got to use (for free) recently for our son's 4th birthday party.

Have fun!

We just had my daughter's second birthday party in the upstairs room at the old nuns head. It is a lovely room, ?50 to hire, no minimum spend, held about 40 people comfortably, very nice family friendly people running it, sound system that you can plug your iPod into, a load of fatboy beanbags that the older kids turned into a sort of soft play. Dont know about food as we just had a bar tab and brought our own birthday cake. Worked really well for us. Bit reluctant to tell everyone about it as don't want it to get booked up when we next need it (like the herne was when I tried...although I'm very happy in the end the herne wasn't available!)

    • As I said, it was my understanding. I worded it very carefully. I didn't/don't know for sure, so clearly not a fact. And hardly an "opinion", which is something completely different. You have no idea what reason anybody might have had for not voting for him (unless you can point to some opinion poll results which actually asked people?)
    • Also, just to add, the threat to kill someone's dog and try to kick it, is an additional extremely unpleasant layer. I have noticed a lot of the burst water balloons lying around in the park too- that is not great for the environment either.
    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
