KristinH
can anyone recommend a child friendly restaurant for Sunday 5th March - Aussie friends want to organise a getogether for mix of friends, different age kids, several families and preferably central London or easily accessible. We'd love to be in a park or have outside space for the kids to play and tasty food.Blue Kangaroo no longer exists, Rainforest Cafe bad food, too dark/expensive/touristy so not sure where else to go. A cafe eg St James Park would be good but not sure if it's possible to reserve tables there or if they do more than sandwiches. Does anyone know?Spacious pub with garden could also be good option. All ideas very welcome as we're a bit stuck!! Thanks a million for your help, Kristin Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15584-help-child-friendly-restaurantput-with-outside-space/ Share on other sites
Belle
There is a nice restaurant in St James Pk I think - 'Inn the Park ' - pretty sure has a posher side and a more canteeny side. Otherwise South Bank because scope to run, playground, can run around inside RFH (which also has a range of food from posh skylon restaurant, sklyon grill, to sandwichy things downstairs). The only pubs I know that would fit the bill are local - The florence in herne hill, or maybe the Herne on Forest Hill Rd. SummerMum
Kew Gardens - there is a restaurant/cafe. And you can sit indoors or outdoors. KristinH
thanks so much, all great ideas .... my mind went a complete blank when she asked me to organise their day!! The pressure as they're high maintenance friends, top lifestyle and only here every few years! Also need to think of somewhere for a group of adults on Sat night - good, original but not over priced (as the rest of us may not be able to afford the top notch!)Thanks again, Kristin Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15584-help-child-friendly-restaurantput-with-outside-space/#findComment-407146 Share on other sites
Sanne Panne
Don't go for Japanese, Thai or other South East Asian cuisine... they'll just be shocked at the price and disappointed in the quality compared to what they get there. Sorry, not much of a help! Hereford Road has real British food, non-pub style, and is just off Westbourne Grove. Not hip but definitely decent.
