Trivial amount compared to government and industry money spent for preparing for a no deal, and the further costs if we went for this. Or to put into further context a small percentage on what we will spend restoring the houses of Westminster. And lower than Ress Mogg's net worth.

Although if someone had to stump up for it it should be Dave. Although unlike RM that would bankrupt our ex-PM, Can't find info on TM, but much much smaller riches.

Who is stopping us from leaving Foxy? Have the news got it wrong and it?s the EU who has been coming to London asking for extensions? The uk could have left in March if it had really really really really wanted to - it?s got nothing to do with the EU that parliament has decided that it doesn?t want to leave without a deal.

It?s such a simple concept, yet I?ve come across well educated people who don?t get it: The EU has no say over whether, as current EU members, we stay or leave. We can leave without a deal whenever we want, and if The UK changes its mind it can choose to stay unilaterally. What?s so difficult to understand about that? Is it the word ?unilaterally?? Maybe people don?t understand what the unilateral concept means in this context.

(Please don?t say ?it?s the backstop?, because the backstop has nothing to do with the uk ability to unilaterally leave without a deal, or revoke and stay)

I swing both ways, can't beat a good old fashioned foot and inch, and have even been known to go the extra mile and exchange fluid ounces. But when I'm feeling really adventurous I like to dabble in grams and candelas.

Does that mean I'm bimetric, or should that be biimperial, or perhaps it's bimetricimperial, although a bit of a mouthful that last one, so to speak...

When I studied Physics we learnt it all in metric (SI units) even though it was 1987.

One day I picked up a book in the university library describing physics in Imperial units - just WOW - and I thought what I studied was complicated.

Sky's news is mileskilometers better than the BBC's, far more factual than the Beeb's perceived 'balance'. Will be interesting to see whether FI changes how he reports and tweets...

    • Oh dear! The general response is that my experience of Jon Hartley is the norm. That’s bad. As an update to my issue with him, Ellie Reeves’ office advised that I contact the Southwark Labour Party Chief Whip in the first instance with my complaint. Coincidentally, the Chief Whip turns out to be Cllr Maggie Browning. She acknowledged my complaint and, in response, said that she had ‘spoken’ to Jon Hartley and appeared satisfied that he’d now responded to me. Not sure that’ s an adequate response, since it seems to been well-known that he consistently ignores constituents. Maggie will know that better than anyone as she’s paired with Jon in our Ward, and she’s having to pick up the stuff which he’s ignoring. As people have noted, Maggie does indeed respond to constituents but she’s now on maternity leave. Alas, I think that means we’re lumbered with just Jon. I’ve bypassed him in respect of my own issue, because I think he’s a waste of my time. In case anyone else should be having problems with him, especially now that Maggie Browning is away, I’d recommend emailing Ellie Reeves MP. Her office is very responsive in my experience and, if she hears from enough disgruntled constituents of Cllr Hartley, I imagine she be quietly speaking to the Southwark Constituency Labour Party about him. Ultimately, if he stands again, he won’t be getting my vote. Be annoyed people, be very annoyed ! Your vote should count for something and the candidates privileged enough to get it should do the job they were elected for!
