The registertovote.eu site has been closed down at the request of the Electoral Commission.


The Electoral Commission said: ?We urge EU citizens that want to vote in the European parliamentary elections in the UK to only apply to register to vote through their local council or official websites. We welcome efforts by campaigners to encourage eligible electors to register to vote. However, our advice to anyone not yet registered is to only apply directly at www.gov.uk/registertovote.?

The People's Vote campaign has published a list of parties that pass it's 'People's Vote Test', bizarrely this includes the Labour Party. Don't be fooled by this. Labour has just published it's European manifesto and it's first priority is to deliver a Brexit ''along the lines of our alternative plan''. Failing that it's next priority is a general election. And failing both, ''the option of a public vote''. Note the use of the words ''the option of'', they're there for a reason, a convenient get out clause. Also there is no confirmation that Remain must be on the ballot of a public vote.

As a lifelong Labour voter in general elections who's also a Remainer, I'm afraid there's no choice but to vote for a party that unequivocally wants to Remain, and that isn't Labour. Therefore a clear message needs to be sent to Corbyn and his Lexiteer henchmen...

I heard rumours (Peston) that Femi was lined up as the Peterborough remain candidate but pulled out.

I don't really understand what people expect him to do. EU have already said they're not willing to negotiate a different deal (I suppose they might accept some small tweaks). Anybody with a modicum of sense knows that "no deal" would be disastrous, and that we cannot risk reverting to a hard border in Ireland. Brexit seems like an almost impossible conundrum, but Johnson doesn't seem to have suggested concrete solutions, it's all just noise... empty words and patriotism. I have literally no idea what he's planning.. if anything.

Fishbiscuits was referring to Passiflora not yourself...unless I've presumed wrong too! :)

Although he's a sensible type of Brexit supporter (North not Banks) - He can get a bit tetchy so you probably caught him in that mood :)

      I heard them & our two dogs were extremely upset by it..  bad enough during the evenings but at least can have music on to dilute the noise!   Some people have literally zero thoughts for others!!

      I have signed that petition.  Someone was letting off loud fireworks at about 3 am this morning. They woke me up.   I don’t know where they were exactly but it sounded like they were in the vicinity of Dog Kennel Hill.

Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
