minder
Should add not all registered childminders are on the direct.gov list - I wasn't up until around 6 months ago. Fidgetsmum
Simplychildcare.com. Also, the woman that runs it is absolutely brilliant and if you ring her with a query she'll take lots of time to give you some advice. Good luck. chantelle
the council can send you an updated list of CMs with vacancies. For nannies and shares I also recommend simplychildcare. Or here for finding a nanny share family ... Moos
Nannyshare.co.uk (I think) allows nannies and families to advertise: you put in your postcode and search your area for compatible families. supergolden88
If you are after a nursery place the sooner the better in some cases as they are few ones that take babies and the spaces get filled quickly. I have seen pregnant mums put down the name of their future offspring on waiting lists at Asquith. If you are after a childminder or nanny you can wait until near the time you need them - maybe make enquiries a couple of months in advance.
