Bicycle thieves in ED

A few weeks ago my bicycle was stolen from the shed in our back garden - chatting to a neighbour we found they had suffered an identical crime a couple of weeks earlier - we both live in corner houses, the side gates were locked so the thief had to climb over the (high) wall, and in both cases they only took one (the better, of course) bike, so maybe it's just one person. So watch out if you think your bike's safe - these thieves could be back. Landcroft/Goodrich Road area. Sorry the warning's a bit late, I'm new to the forum.

Sorry to hear that. I've lost so many bikes over the years that I know keep mine indoors, although living on the 2nd floor of a building with no garden makes this something of a necessity.

It wasn't you that put up the signs on your garden fence was it?

If so I don't suppose that it worked and the thief was made to feel so guilty that the cycle was returned?

Any lawyers on list? How does the law stand on measures to protect your property? Is it down to what is 'reasonable' Crushed glass is effective but electrickery perhaps not! Personally I'd run a cable on top of the wall connected to a car battery (as farmers have done for years)I'd assume conecting it to the national grid might cause 'issues' shall we say
