Sue
Well they may have fixed it, but there's still apart of the road fenced off and no parking all around it, with a sign saying the work will be finished tomorrow :( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/160338-burst-water-main-ulverscroft-road/#findComment-1158263 Share on other sites
DulwichFox
The people that mend the Pipework are not likely to be the same team that dig the hole and repair the road. bargee99
Conways put out cones and posters on lamp posts and cars in our road last weekend. They informed car owners that there was no parking on one side of the road all week while the footpath was being repaired. Having all moved our cars accordingly we found out on Monday morning that they had posted the wrong part of the road and that we could all go back to normal. You simply couldn't make up the incompetence of this company and their council clients. sdonald
I called to report 2 visible leaks (where there pipe eventually burst)on Ulverscroft Rd about 8pm the evening the pipe burst. Apparently Thames Water came at 11.30pm and decided there was no threat of a burst water main. Fast forward to 4am and the pipe exploded. At 4am they could only commit to getting someone out by 8am (when the guys start working) despite me pointing out that the houses directly by the burst main seemed to be a risk of flooding through the front door. Not too impressed with Thames Water!
