My car finally died last week and it's not worth spending any more more on it. So, with the price of unleaded petrol now, I'm thinking of getting an LPG converted car.

Anyone have any experience of these? I've got no real idea - I assume a specialist has to do the servicing etc - are there any local places? Are there many filling stations in the area or am I going to have to go further afield to fill up?

What other issues would you consider?

Although LPG is half the cost of petrol, it actually requires 30% more fuel to drive around, so the final saving is about 25%.

They're about 15% kinder on the environment.

Boris has currently proposed that LPGs up to a certain emmissions level don't pay the congestion charge, which is nice. You'd need to check whether your proposed vehicle is green enough.

There's a filling map here, which suggests you'd need to go to Camberwell, Peckham or Forest Hill to fill up.

The coding session would be good but you need to book well in advance. Also grandson has been doing coding since 6 years old. He now has a 'mentoring role' at his primary school as his knowledge of this subject is years above his chronological age. Dates are still up in the air as their father is trying to juggle leave from a new job in the north of the country.
    • why not have a pasty shop - we could have Cornish pasties, Jamaican patties, empanadas from all the different regions.... I like all three.  I'm still going to support the Chacarero family business, as I don't support chains, just as I don't buy anything from Gail's, Nero, Starbucks etc.

    • Try Gentrification, those with more money than sense who constantly want something different, when pie and mash isn't good enough for them.  "Argentinian Cornish pasties" give3 me a proper Cornish pastie any day of the week, at least I'd be supporting something traditionally British.   ps. tin hat at the ready........................🤣
