Well very good academic results obviously. My preference would be a mxied school eg Alleyns but, of course their results are not as good. I have tried to get them to split them out to show whether their GIRLS do just as well as JAGS but they seem strangely unable to do so. This leads me to think (a) they don't want to so maybe the results are consistently not great or (b) their business development people are lazy, which smacks of lack of ambition for the school. Either turns me off and propels me back to JAGS.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone - do please pm if preferred - whose daughter got in but chose not to take up the place and why. I am probably less interested in hearing the views of anyone whose child failed to get in as parental bias is inevitable.

results arent everything.Just hang around outside each schhol each day and see what comes out, then think which would suit your daughter.Dont just notice the loud girls- look at the quieter ones girls too- there are some. All girls schools have more than average anerexia/bulemia problems.

    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
    • Closing down completely. The lovely people there are all retiring. Thanks, but Deptford is a long way to go to make two journeys to  take and collect a car! Do they not do even relatively minor repairs if it fails its MOT first time? Then that would require four journeys 😭 Wondering if there's already a thread on here for garage recommendations? People on my road WhatsApp group have recommended some local ones. I'm particularly gutted because apart from the lovely people who worked there,  Dell was a five minute walk for me!
    • I did think that might be the reason, but five years out of seven it's going to be a weekday (I think. Not sure how leap years might affect things!)
    • Probably because the 5th was a weekday. We still have the weekend to come. Also, some fireworks going off nearly every night for the last few months. Last night something was being let off that made a very deep booming noise every 10 seconds or so. That said, if the general public are beginning to see the harm done by firework noise and choosing to use low noise options and refusing to support organised events that still use the full throttle type, I for one would be very happy. Does anyone know if the Herne Hill Velodrome Halloween fireworks event used low noise options?
