Have just had a letter through offering us a place at Heber Nursery. Has anyone got experience of sending their child there? I put my daughters name down ages ago and now am wondering whether 5 days is too much and whether she would be better going somewhere 3 days a week. Or is it better preparation for proper school?

Any advice appreciated...what do you think of their facilities etc?

Thanks

Lou

I would accept the place. As previous poster said it's only usually 2 and a half hours in the morning/afternoon so not too long a day.

My three all went to the local state school nursery at around 3/3 and a half and it really helped prepare them for reception class.

If you decide to go somewhere else for 3 full days will you end up paying? At least Heber is free!

    • You are welcome to mine!  Tthey are pests (assuming you are talking about feral pigeons).  We have occasionally wood pigeons, but once the feral ones arrived the wood pigeons disappeared. I feed tits, finches, robins, great spotted woodpecker and other birds from time to time when they appear.  I used squirel proof feeders.
    • Every day at 12 oclock I take out the food to put on the bird feeder. The pigeons, always being very punctual, form a very orderly queue in true British style on the roof of my shed and take it in turns to partake of the feast. (Other birds do get a look in eventually) . However, today, not one single bird has come anywhere near. The sky is silent. What do they know that I don't. Any ideas?
    • Presumably because she's carrying the whole load of her ward (and her fellow counsellor!)
    • I  too have never had a response from John Hartley but have always found Maggie Browning does respond.  Yes it can take her a bit longer but many councillors work as well.  She's been very good at sorting out any issues I have raised.
