Important to support our local shops so hopefully they are getting on top if it.

Must admit I go past it frequently and they often look empty..can't be easy if selling fresh food.

Maybe needs a bit more advertising as it's a good shop?

Another post about it recently.....http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,1855792,1855812#msg-1855812

This, I spent money in there. I'm probably not Potager's target (out working all day) but I never really knew what it was for. Soup?

Yes, that was them.

Have to say it never looked very busy, but at least they tried something. Here's hoping another independent (of any type) makes a success of it.

Finally called themselves greengrocers but to be honest it was never really clear what they actually wanted to do, soup, smoothies, fruit, veg, bread, pies, other. If you are unclear about what you are those potential customers will be unclear about what you do, offer, want to offer and ultimately you get to the stage were it costs you more to run the business than you actually take, making it no longer viable to trade, sadly that's the point you pull down the shutters before the business burns even bigger holes in your bank balance.

So another business fades away into obscurity because of a lack of clarity about what it did. Had the owners been smarter and they had concentrated on providing good quality basic provisions it could have been a really successful little business at that end of the parade. As some may recall many, many moons ago there was a fruit and veg stall outside what was Galleon wine, now the hairdressers that thrived for many years till some cretin burned it down I recall?? so it can be done.

While the Coop is pretty hit and miss and judging by peoples opinions not that popular, although in its defence it does have a steady stream of custom a bit of competition may have helped improve standards, but then that's wishful thinking.

    • It worked. Corbyn did similar although not to the same degree. Momentum had a purge too when Corbyn got in. All his political life he opposed the EU but when it came to the crunch he publicly backed them during the referendum. I believe that was to appease the middle classes that he was appealing to. He messed up big time when wooing the middle classes at Glastonbury whilst ignoring his core working class voters uo north. They also happened to b e leave voters. He got starstruck and forgot about hisolitics. Corbynmania was thing but it was also the making of his downfall.
    • Nothing to do with the tories overspending whatsoever eh! Blame the last 10/11 years of blatant mismanagement, incompetence and willful deceit on the poor bastards that were left with the fall out of a complete car crash tory government.   One PM after another falling on their sword. Open corruption and piss taking throughout covid and a legacy of huge debt and destruction yet in your view it will be labour's 4 years in power that bankrupts us in 2029.  Another one that must think people are blind and stupid.  Rejoice rejoice. It's a pity he and his fellow clowns were completely annihilated at the ballot box. I mean they were doing so well after all 🙃🙃
    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
