  1. Hi James, I am not a profesional cat feeder but if you are local to East Dulwich, I can help. I can provide references, I have worked for a local busines for 5 years. I have lived in East Dulwich since 2000 and I love cats. I have one cat now but I used to have two, I get along with them very well. What days do you need to feed the cats and how many visits per day do you require. You can text me on 07950775834 Many thanks,
  2. I?m really sorry for the woman and her family and I hope she recovers soon.
  3. I found an earring in Dulwich park. It?s very beautiful so I?m sure the owner must be missing it. If you can describe it, I can return it.
  4. I sympathise with you and with all the parents, including your neighbours. We are all at home and times are not easy. Victorian conversion flats are not well insulated and insulating them is very expensive and offers no guarantee. It?s s very difficult situation. Children don?t do what the parents tell them all the time. I suggest ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones. Or scheduling your exercise to coincide with the noise so you are out of the house when that happens. Sorry, I can?t think of anything else. But I know you are not alone, many people have to put up with noise from their neighbours.
  5. I sympathised having had upsetting neighbours before which, resulted in us having to sell our conversion flat when our child was 8 months to move to another property. However, I don?t see why you are disclosing the nationality of your neighbours and also, how do you know is the toddler making the noise and not any of the other children? I used to have to put on ear plugs when I was in the same situation.
  6. Hi, She might be hungry or insecure about her next meal. How frequently are you feeding her and how frequently did her previous owners fed her?
  7. Did the landlord put up the rent?
  8. There are definitely poor people in East Dulwich, I know because I am a one of them! hahaha. I'm not sure if Dulwich Village has any poor people in it, I suspect it does. There are a lot of poor people in East Dulwich/London due morgage debt but of those, a large majority think they are not poor or they behave as if they weren't which is not a bad thing.
  9. The food was not all that when the previous owner was there. I like the new management. Very friendly bar staff. I can't comment about the quality of the food they offer as I have not eaten there recently. Maybe it will help if more people went to The Herne in support of a local business and any comments regarding food quality were put directly in writing to the manager with positive suggestions and encouragement.
  10. Yes, I do and she if a consultant with loads of experience. Her phone is 02071885267. I think she only sees privately one day per week but I highly recommend her.
  11. I agree with AbDabs, pretty ugly, looking at it one feels like downing a whole bottle to forget the sight.
  12. Too many people trying to keep up with the Jonesses. Worried about what others will say about them and their front gardens and propertiesm. Forgetting the most important things in life:solidarity snd justice. No time for talking to the neighbours, too busy trying to pay for the Victorian path and front garden, the cleaner and windiw ccleaner the nanny and the extension.Too busy being mean and turning their noses up.enslaved to pay for the mortgage.Stripped of humanity and drinking to forget it all. They should have gone to spec savers!
  13. The quotes from builders in the London area for paving a front garden are exhorbitant as ar e the ones given for home refurbishments
  14. We would like recomendations for a boundary surveyor. Please let us know if you know any. Thanks

  16. To DaveR Sorry but if you want to get the equivalent of a private education by the way of Academy you are in dream land. Academies are the privatisation of education through the back door. That is why Gove is doing it on the quiet. They give the schools the hook of the big chunk of money to start whith and then what? Is McDonals going to come to the academies rescue as and when Mr. Gove decides there is not enough money on the pot for academies? perhaps we will end paying for what was free before.(Sorry not free because after all we already pay for education via the tax system). Also what do Academies do with all those children that are failing for whatever reason in order to get their excellent results??? I know some Academies are failing. If you are not happy with Goodrich you should start working for the school and stop your patronising of the teachers.
  17. To Bawdy-nan I am awarare of the fact that some SENs students do well academically that is why I wrote some SENs work at lower attainment levels. To Dave-R judging by the stats. Goodrich is average compare to the national average and borough average by tests results and is much larger in numbers than any other schools in Southwark and has large numbers of SENs pupils. I think the school is a good community school is in the independents where you will find excellent academic results but too expensive for 95% of the population in this country...
  18. Hi, To DaveR: Sorry if my statement sounds ridiculous to you. By no matter what I meant regardless of any issues that affect the school such as large number of pupils, SENs numbers, pupil's socio-economic background, teacher retention and training etc. Can you tell us where you saw the statistics you mention in your post? you are not quoting any official documents and we have to take your word for it. I will add that the move by the parent governors has made a lot of parents angy mainly because of the way it has been communicated to the school/parents (poor presentation and poor information on Academies and the pros and cons). On teacher retention, if things continue like this, some teacher may be thinking of leaving. Is anyone thinking about the hard work the teachers do for the school??? They didn't look too happy in that meeting.
  19. I wasn't for a moment suggesting that students with SENs should not be catered for but what some people are not thinking of is that some SENs work at lower attainment levels because they find it difficult even with the best of help due to sometimes genetic causes. This is why sometimes the results of a particular school in the league tables of schools are a little lower than they should be and comparing schools just on the grounds of ACADEMIC RESULTS is very unfair to some schools. SENs children have a right to be educated in state mantained schools alongside their peers and a right to be challenged to the top of their abilities. That is what the NC states and I wholeheartedly agree. The parents I talk about are not thinking on these grounds. The fact is that league table results based solely on ACADEMIC RESULTS which at the end of the day only measure how well a student does in an exam situation are most unfair for the schools who cater for large numbers of SENS and for the students and staff in these schools!!!
