untamedstylist
It's not anything to do with being too young or old just didn't particularly think that 18-19 Yr olds would really want to be hanging around with a 25 Yr old and same for 30 and over... katie1997
Untamedstylist - I"m sure there's a group that advertises on here for meet ups, called london socialising or something? No idea what age group they are though. Or perhaps if you like sports there are groups around to cater for that? Can be a good way in to meet new people in your area? Or film? Or whatever it is you like doing in your free time. I think sometimes that its quite difficult to meet people when you move to a new area and your colleagues and friends are on other sides of the river etc. Sometimes its strange to think that living in one of the most major cities, with busy people all around us, it can be hard to make new friends and it can be a lonely place at times. Good luck and hope you find some like-minded people that are roughly your age group! :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16811-calling-all-20-28yr-old-socialites/#findComment-428664 Share on other sites

untamedstylist
I'm open to befriending all ages and sex's just wanting to go out and about to meet others... It's so incredibly hard almost to the point of severely depressing... Driving past all the bars seemingly heaving with people and scared to approach on Ur own... Ir was different in Australia people say hello to u when u simpley pass them in the street it's so easy to make friends there... Seems london is very hard and can be very unwelcoming and people seem to be in groups of people they've probably grown up with it's horrible starting over in mid 20's or older... It's easy if in education or bar / nightclub work I'm sure but already do about 60 hrs a week in a hair salon, last thing I want it is a bar job and it also consumes Ur life.. Been there done that.... Thanks for the encouragement peeps.... dita-on-tees
Sorry for the teasing - that's life on the forum, and most us are in abject fear of getting past it, hence reaction to age ranges. oh maybe thats just me. London is quite hard, it took me a good 10 years to really settle into life here. I used to potter around on weekends and felt like life was going on around me, without me and London can make you feel like that - but it isnt you it is just the veneer of this city. It seems you can either move here with a group, make friends through work or make friends through a shared interest. I have made friends through work but the trouble with that is people are in different locations and then there is the private overstepping professional dilemma. So after 10 years of dithering round the outskirts, I joined a local sports group, lets just say previous to this I was not sporty, but I now know friends locally and it does make a difference. There are a few non sport groups on this forum, book groups, monthly drinks and people who get together. Also I know there are some Aussie expat forums - though I dont know whether they meet locally. Have a look in the whats on section too. Sorry dithering post, with nothing concrete to suggest, maybe come along to the barry road race, the ladies football team will look after you! But it's taken me 25 years or so to do it.U.T S. untamedstylist
Thanks for responses guys... I already checked out city socialising site but seems a great lack of southern londoners that actually respond and sadly due to my work schedule it doesn't leave me much time to attend group acctivutys as much as I'd love to which I was hoping to befriend some locals I could just pop down and chillaxing with on route back from work etc...I was half expecting abuse and mickey taking but thought what the hell it's worth a try, nothing ventured nothing gained but actually seeing some nice responses... Very unexpected and thanks.. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16811-calling-all-20-28yr-old-socialites/#findComment-428727 Share on other sites
