nunheadmum
It's the time of year when many of us go around schools, either primary or secondary, and collect the polished prospectuses that are distributed. Can I ask how much parents feel these are of use in the decisions they and their children are making? As a school business manager trying to make money go further, I'm just interested if they are valued by parents. Any input welcome. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/168422-school-prospectuses/ Share on other sites
Monkey
I think if they are well put together and genuinely reflect the ethos of the school, then they are useful. I really like the one Goodrich produces. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/168422-school-prospectuses/#findComment-1179178 Share on other sites
hazelnunhead
I am busy looking at secondary schools and have found the prospectives useful - I have looked at them since going to the schools to recap on the head teachers talk. I am not sure not having one would make me not go, but I do like having the information printed, and not having to read it online. (personal preference). nunheadmum
Thanks for the responses. Personally, I found ours sat on a shelf and we looked online for most of the info. But glad to hear others make more use of them. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/168422-school-prospectuses/#findComment-1181653 Share on other sites
Monkey
The one from Charter is fab. There's a handout in it which covers one subject per page with curriculum info and latest set of results. Really well presented, clear and informative. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/168422-school-prospectuses/#findComment-1182598 Share on other sites
bodsier
It's fine if it's a true reflection Of the school and doesn't appear too generic. Two of them had identical strap lines...."Excellence for all" ..... The same publicist ? It makes them appear disingenuous......
