LadyDeliah
I see so many posts that make me chortle away to myself, but I rarely post and say so. There must be others like me who read something they like but dont want to/can't post a reply for whatever reason, so I think a 'like' button showing we enjoyed someone's contribution might be a good idea. What do you reckon? Alan Medic
A bit like facebook...........I sort of like the idea but wonder what ingenious ways it would be abused here. Alan Medic
Actually I think I'd probably make more use of a 'dislike' button. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16874-edf-needs-a-like-button/#findComment-429499 Share on other sites

Huguenot
Yeah, I'm worried about abuse too.I'm particularly not a fan of 'dislike' buttons. Most of us have heard the phrase 'If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'.Whilst in general this isn't practical (it hardly contributes to debate), I think a general 'dislike' feature doesn't even bother to explain the duisagreement. It's just plain abusive and damages communities.'Like' if you must, but even then I'm worried that we'd end up with a forum full of smart-alec one-liners and little cliques of people blowing smoke up each others' behinds.
