I feel a bit silly asking for recommendation on these items :)) but hey, I've made so many mistakes buying baby/ toddler gear that I can't afford to waste any more money!

Do the most basic ones do the job or are Baby Bjorn stuff more expensive for a reason (other than the funky colours)?

Thanks both.

Incidentally, has anyone come across a training urinal for potty training boys?

I'm from Korea originally and it seems potty training urinals is all the rage over there. They are small plastic urinals that can be stuck on a wall/ taken off again, etc etc. I thought it was a really good idea but hubby thinks I've gone bonkers... (Hubby's probably right).

I've attached a picture in case anyone's wondering what the heck I'm talking about :))

I'm thinking of getting one of those toilet trainer seats as son not wild about potty but when we try on the loo it's clearly uncomfortable.

ikea step stool thing looks fab - if you can't get out there, I've seen John Lewis do a budget one for ?3.99 I think it is.

Amydown - you could prob improvise by holding potty up if your little boy wants to stand to pee - I think someone on here was saying that is often easiest? Must admit am a bit confused as to whether to encourage mine to sit down/stand up, so am just kind of seeing what he does.
We bought E one of those eco potties and she refuses to sit on it- seems a long way down. We got her a potty chair from Mothercare instead (?8 I think) and she prefers it as you sit rather than squat on it. Think it's like the Baby Bjorn one mentioned above.

have to say I got one cheap potty and a baby bjorn one with a comfy back was given to us (worth about ?25 - not sure I would have bought it!) - and my daughter far prefers the baby bjorn one. But then it's taken us ages to get her to use the toilet instead so guess it has downsides.

For the step up stool I have a couple, but the best used one is just a plastic step I got from Farmers on Lordship Lane. It wasn't expensive, and I was able to choose a colour to match our bathroom. It is higher than the usual step up stools, which means it works at both the sink and the loo, even for a dinky 2 year old.

Hope this helps.

I'd third the Baby Bjorn potty. #1 child was happy on anything, but #2 was really uncomfortable on any of the smaller pottys and didn't settle at all until we boght the baby bjorn. We have two step stools, the ikea one and one from AJ Farmers. I'd recomend the ikea one if your bathroom floor is at all slippy but otherwise anything would do.

    • Wow, well served with local supermarkets then…  Agree with ATM.. good c position to been mugged or cloned card - prob why not been considered before. Wasn’t there one outside post office and still  is2where people were abit nervous of using? Hope I am wrong but won’t see me rushing to use it…sure lots of folk will benefit thou. Not a great fan or user of Iceland but when it closed years ago people complained..  Guess they only b look at bigger sites - can’t recall an express one but a pity to those who frequent the store. Strange that Tesco can use it as local but Iceland can’t - guess it is  power of large supermarkets. Personally would have  loved an Aldi or Lidl but  clearly site to small. Only grocery stores left to come are Waitrose, Aldi, Lidl…
    • I'm paying £31 pcm for full fibre 300, whatever that is. I'm not sure it's a particularly good deal now, but I did a comparison at the time I went onto it, and it was then. I don't have a landline any more, and my mobile is with iD, who piggyback off 3. I don't usually have any problems,  except once a few years back when the whole 3  network (?) went  down for quite a long time.
    • I have Plusnet too.   I recently (August) had some problems with WiFi connection on different days but and the turning off and turning on didn’t work.  The WiFi didn’t work for quite a few hours - overnight in one case but eventually rectified itself.   Would be interested to know how much other people pay for Plusnet. I also have a landline with them as the mobile signal is bad inside house.  That is with EE and I want to change from them to another provider.
    • That's terrible 🤬 Was it the same company both times?
